H. Ward and Holmes (1 Viewer)

I believe the Titans play Finnegan almost exclusively on the Right side of the Defense. So that would mean he would be lining up with the WR on the left side of the Steelers Offense.

Is that Ward or Holmes? On the other side, Harper is decent but he plays soft and gives up 10 yard routes all day long. How does that factor into your projections for each this week. The two staffers who do offensive projection appear to be torn on this as well since there is a big deiscepancy in their views on these guys this week.

It does not matter; teams move WRs all over the place with motion etc. Also look at the box score from last years game....both Ward and Holmes did very well.

starting Holmes in a couple leagues, but not expecting much... but I appreciate the info Sweetness, makes me feel a little better!

I've read during the preseason that Holmes is going to get moved around in the fomations specifically to get favorable matchups and avoid double teams.

I think he may actually see a lot of slot work when the Steelers go 3 and 4 wide which doesn't bother me as an owner.

i'm hoping he is going to step up his game this year (don't know if it is a contract year or not) and maybe Ward will finally slow down...

My first lineup decision of 2008- bench Holmes for Driver- has backfired... holmes looks great though-- is this a sign of the torch being passed from Ward to him as some have suggested? or just Steelers taking what def is giving them in coverage..

I'm ecstatic how good Holmes has looked tonight. If he puts up numbers to these as my third WR, its gonna be a great year for me.

I have to give Tomlin some credit. With the running game struggling, he's willing to put the game on Ben's shoulders. And I like his aggresiveness. Tied at 0-0 and pushing the ball down field in the two minute offense.

I think he is a VERY good WR. I don't expect 130+ and a TD every game, but what a way to start the season.

Almost EVERY cheatsheet had him ranked very low. I think that is bogus.

Roeth has broken 20 TDs once in his career and averages 208 yards a game. Holmes and Ward will be good plays against run stuffing defenses as the Steelers don't have the personal up front or in the backfield to break those teams with the run and they will end up passing like last night. Most other games though they won't be averaging <2 yards a carry and will look to have more of a balanced attack. With Ward still productive and Heath Miller a solid TE Holmes just isn't talented enough to grab a ton of balls. He may have one or two seasons breaking the top 20 but most of the time hes going to be a #3 WR. If there is one more good thing for Holmes is that Pitts special teams have stunk in recent years and if last nights performance is indicative they will be better. Better field position = more points = better for all involved. I would be happy with him as a #3 but not more. Be cautious against teams with weak run Ds though. He might only get 3-4 targets.

Started him in 2 leagues and put Royal in for him last night in a 3rd league.
