haha my league had a tie game (1 Viewer)

BGP

Indians Fever
both socred 63 points.

both "OT" players scored 12 points.

Oops.

What sealed the deal was Ronnie Brown rushing for 110 yards and catching 15 yards. That was the magic number to make it happen.

Nope. This has never, ever happened before in 9 years of this league's existence.

soooo...what happens now?

if you dont have any rules governing this, It seems you have to declare co-champions? (Assuming this is the championship game)

our leagues next tie-break for situations like this is "higher seed advances"....not that this piece of info helps you now.

I suggest letting them play a tiebreaker next week. Consider week 17 as an overtime period.
"If I'd known I'd have to worry about week 17, I'd have picked up Player X." I can hear it now.No rule to cover the situation, split the money and the title. That's the only fair way to do it. Any time you make up rules in the postseason, it's bad on priciple.

Wow... no coin flip as an absolute last resort tie-break?

Two of the leageus I am in have 6 levels of tie break possibilities..

We have our main lineup, then call in an additional 5 players, ranked. Then in the event of a tie, the scores of the 1's are scored, if still tied, then 2's get matched, and so on. if, after all 5 extras are scored, and there is still a tie, a coin-flip decides the winner. with decimal scoring, I think we have only ONCE even gotten to scoring the 1's to decide it.

Not having enough tiebreakers is also bad "priciple". :sadbanana:

I like bench points as a tiebreaker.
I don't. The reason is because what if one team's backup RB's or QB's are the real backups to the real starters? For example, a LT owner's best backup RB is Michael Turner. The owner that is smart enough to backup his starters is then screwed.

This happened in the first league I ever played in, in about the fifth season.

The split the money, and the league folded. Tread carefully.

in my league we carry out the decimal.

Ronnie Brown would have had 12 points on yards and 1.5 for receiving. Last year, our championship game had to come down to that as did this year's college championship.

2 straight years in our NFL league, the final game has been decided by 1 point or less.

It happened to me in my championship game. We tied in the final. Our league doesn't have a playoff tie-break situation, so (as commish) I have to declare Co-Champions and a prize split.Of course, we have to install rules regarding this in the offseason, but, I expect some flak. :wall:

Additionally, we moved our host site from CBS to Yahoo this year, to pay out more to the respected parties. I print a pretty lengthly rule sheet prior to the draft, and, pass out to each team. Yahoo, on the other end, has its own system regarding tie-breaks. You guessed it, someone (other than the 2 in the finals) pointed out the system and is raising a stink. Now, if we adhere to the rules that are on printed paper, how does one as commish go about tackling this issue? The 2 guys in the final are fine with a split prize. Yet others with no vested interest are raising red flags.Once again, obviously rules will have to be revised prior to next year's draft.

Why would you get any flak? Who plays FF to tie!? :wall:

Should do this.

The team that had the most match up wins should get it.

Compare each of the position players and whichever team has more > then < wins.

QB 10 > QB 5

RB 20 > RB 15

WR 5 < WR 15

etc etc
