Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the Philadelphia Eagles have released WR Hank Baskett.

I believe he will land on his feet somewhere....... New England ?

terrible, terrible decision.

glad for hank, though. the eagles never used this guy properly. i think he'll turn out to be a starter in the nfl.

He'll land on Kendra (as always) :hifive:
Should be a soft landing. Doubles as flotation device(s).

If he doesn't get signed, do you think she'll keep him?

Shouldn't it read, "Reality TV star, Hank Baskett released"?
Shouldn't it read, "Kendra Wilkinson's husband released",No one cares about Hank Baskett.
Hank Baskett >>> Greg Lewis.Fun stat I saw once - Baskett leads all active NFL players in TD catches of 90+yards.Baskett will get signed somewhere, this is a move form the Eagles to try and save money & face by not releasing Reggie Brown. He's a pretty decent ST player & a very good blocker. They could've done this before IR'ing Shawn Andrews. The FO is making some missteps this year, and it's a domino effect of Vick.

Any chance that they bring him back when McNabb is healthy? They're not planning on keeping 4 QBs on the active roster, are they?
You mean 3 QBs and Vick?Anyway, he was no Greg Lewis and its only a matter of time till he's back with the Vikings. Where all ex-Eagle WRs go

Hank Baskett >>> Greg Lewis.
Maybe Childress will re-sign him to make up for the unpopular move trading him away to get Billy McMullen, who was subsequently cut. They just signed Greg Lewis, whom they can cut (though I think they'd be on the hook for his salary since he was signed before week 1).

Vick put on the Active roster. Explains the Baskett cut.Vick + Garcia for Baskett + Andrews. :excited:
Seriously? He's not even eligible this week. I guess they intend to get him a lot of practice this week. Roster management is really being screwed up.I now have a feeling that Vick is not only the "real" #2 once week 3 shows up, but I suspect he's starting if Kolb looks bad.

they should have dropped Reggie Brown instead.
Agreed, especially given how overpaid Brown is for a #6 WR. Maybe there are cap issues with the contract though.Nice to see some interest in Baskett, agree the Eagles never seemed to use him to his strengths.

He'll be with either the Lions, Rams, or ChiefsBOOK IT!
Mark Bradley just doesn't cut it as the WR2 in KC does he? First they signed Wade. Now they are interested in Baskett.
During the game this weekend against the Ravens, on two separate occasions Bradley ran his route too shallow on 3rd down and missed making a 1st down by 1 yard or less. He made a good catch in the 4th quarter, but I think Baskett would just add more depth and experience to the roster.

Update Per Rotoworld:

According to The Baltimore Sun, it's unlikely that the Ravens will be able to pick up Hank Baskett on waivers.

The Ravens were one of seven teams to contact the Eagles about Baskett before his release, making it unlikely the Ravens are high enough on the waiver priority list to get him. There's no doubt players around the league are hoping their team lands Baskett thanks to his wife, Playboy's Kendra, and her friends.
:goodposting: nice double entendre (no pun intended!)
