Hank Baskett (1 Viewer)

If Westbrook is out, I think Baskett may be a nice sneaky play this weekend.

McNabb is running out of reliable targets in the passing game, and he showed last week that he has some faith in Baskett, who converted 8 out of 9 targets. The Bears pass D got lit up by Brian Griese and Antonio Bryant.

Anyone else considering starting him?

yes, i'm considering it. i really like him, but it's the eagles, so it scares me. i'm an eagles homer and it seems like every time it looks like mcnabb has found a new playtoy, the toy is shut down for a month. but he's big and has real good hands, so the optimist in me sees a future star in hank baskett.

Baskett and Jackson look like the future of that WR corps to me.

I'm starting him. He's had two good games so far, was very active last week and the Bears can be beaten through the air as Griese showed last week. Plus, if Westbrook doesn't play or is limited, the Eagles may come out throwing even more than usual. I like Baskett's upside this week.

I like Baskett this week. In addition to Westbrook being out, L.J. Smith is also hurting. I think Baskett gets targeted a lot this week.

In larger, start-3 WR PPR leagues, I don't see how Baskett isn't already a solid fantasy WR3.

He's Top 20 right now in my PPR league (we get bonus points for 50-yard plus TDs so that's helped). I don't think his shelf life will last much longer, though. If Curtis can get healthy, I would expect Curtis and Jackson to be the top two WRs for Philly with Baskett and Brown getting the leftovers.

biggest waste of money in the nfl. i hope they start playing brent celek over him.

Does anyone have concerns about Reggie Brown's return and the possible return of Kevin Curtis?

Doesn't sound like Curtis will play and Brown is looking like the No. 3 WR. There's risk involved - Baskett isn't a sure thing by any means - but I think the Eagles will throw a lot and Baskett is off to a fine start so I'd be surprised if McNabb just ignored him. I think 4-50-0 is a safe floor for Baskett this week.

Reggie Brown is an option for me this week. Do any Eagle fans feel he will be a viable option this week.Andy said last week they just eased him into the lineup. Will he be ready to assume a good roll this week?

Dropped Reggie Brown and picked up Antonio Bryant for this week's game. I have no faith in Brown to do anything this weekend. Not because he played last week and caught nothing, but because jackson and Baskett have been playing very well and McNabb seems to be very comfortable with those two receivers.Mud

I think Brown may be in a "Wally Pipp" situation. Jackson with his speed and quicks is a nice compliment to Baskett's big tough large target style of play. I like both of these WR's for this week... and will see where it goes from there, but I'd put my $ on the two kids over Brown at this point. Curtis is a lot like Jackson... but not as fast.

He's also giving away 5" and ~30 lbs. I still like Baskett as a red zone target even if Curtis returns.

Anything can happen with the Eagles' passing game on any given week. The best playmaker they have at WR is Jackson, so he'll probably get the most targets (assuming Westbrook is out.) Other than that, it's a crapshoot, but I'd play Baskett before I played Brown.

Reggie would be my sneaky play. Reid only had him in on limited plays last week to see how his Hammy would hold up. He came away healthy, I think Reid is going to try and get him involved this weekend.

They've been trying to get him involved in the offense for the past two seasons. This year it's his hammy, but the previous years it's been his hands :banned: I think its pretty clear that he's now playing 2nd fiddle to DeSean, Curtis even baskett. All 3 have shown more play-making ability then reggie brown.

he nearly had a TD. he blew the block on the 4th down play (it was abysmal). its just typical eagles - no discernable WR worth playing from week to week, though you have to stick Jackson in your lineup if you have him as a WR3 type.

This, basically. So far the Eagle's WRs are like Denver's RBs. You never know which one is going to get the most looks, to the point that you almost don't want to start any of them other than the guy who may be most likely to score(who as of right now seems like the aforementioned Jackson.)Curtis coming back should clear it up some, as far as who the actual starters for Philly are, at least. Not sure he clears up anything other than that though.
