Good job and congratulations.

I just passed 10 months. It's not easy, but doable if you really want to.

Congratulations! But I gotta ask--just how long were you smoking? And your wife?

I'm real proud myself to say that I've guit smoking now for 8 months--but that was a two-pack/day habit for 40 years straight, and 5 years dabbling before that. Many thanks to the electronic cigarets thread, and I've pretty much quit those as well--plus no nic for over three months. I do enjoy a cigar once in awhile (maybe every other month) but that's always been a special event for me.

Had my fist cig when I was 10 or 11.. Started smoking a pack a week by the time I was 13.. and by 15 or 16 I was up to about a Pack a day and smoked that way until my 25th Birthday..

I woke up 19 years ago today and said "I'm giving myself a Birthday Present and quitting today" and quit Cold Turkey!

The next few weeks I just kept reminding myself that it was a Birthday present to get through the Withdrawals.

Then after that kept reminding myself how hard those first 3 weeks were. :banned:

reinstating Despyzer was my valentine's gift to Abraham

he begged for it. sometimes you have to do nice things for them. let them know you're paying attention.
