DON'T PRINT THATPssst: A little birdie says Brett Favre was spotted at Tria Orthopedics in Edina on Monday for an examination of his throwing arm, which is recovering from surgery to release a frayed biceps tendon. There's buzz that the Vikings might sign ex-Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison, 36, who is near the end of his career and has tender knees, to a one-year, low-end deal to provide competition for Sidney Rice.
note the paper didn't even print it....grain of salt

Charley Walters at work once again. He is NEVER right.
I heard this from a few different people/sources. There's a few like him or PFT that I wouldn't post a rumor from(well maybe PFT now that NBC is watching over them but....)

Sadly this is correct.I think Marvin could help the Vikings. He would without a doubt have the best hands on the team. Used in 3rd down role to move the chains? Why not?
It all depends on his knees and most indications that we have tend to point to 'tender knees' being the absolute best case scenario with a high probability of more problematic descriptions for his knees. There is no doubt that with this football IQ, his knowledge of the finer points of playing the position, his route running and his hands that he could help the Vikings and in fact, help many teams. But, that is all depending on his knees. Assuming his knees are ok enough for him to run half way decently, even with a step or two lost, the best way to use him would be to keep his snap count low and thus keep his knees as fresh as possible so he can come in and help a QB out.

Boy the Vikes must have zero confidence in Sidney Rice.
My thoughts exactly. His dynasty value keeps dropping imo. Not that Harrison would be a long term threat if he even did come aboard, but if they are actually looking at a guy who is as banged up as Marvin when nobody else has had interest...I just don't think it shows a great deal of faith in Rice.

Sidney Rice can't catch the ball when it counts. People get so enamored with receivers possessing everything you'd like to see athleticially and overlook what he doesn't do well. If it's technique like catching the football - forget it. Harvin will be the guy with No. 2 WR-like production on this team. He may do it several ways, but if he stays healthy he should beat out Rice the end of training camp.

Sidney Rice catches everything thrown his way. His problem has been injuries.

:goodposting: Rice is still 22 years old. I still believe he'll be a very good WR, just needs to stay healthy.
