Harvin to Bills/ Formerly the Harvin to Hawks & Jets (1 Viewer)

Looking forward to playing Harvin this week in my money league, they call me bad luck in this league, to date I either drafted or picked up the following players:

A. Rogers

S. Wallace

A. Foster

J. Cutler

H. Jones

A. Bradshaw

I finally get a player that will break my bad luck jinx
Hulio Jones?

I'm super excited to see how teams are going to deal with Harvin in the slot. In theory opponents are going to have to put a nickel corner on him, but that just makes life so much better for Lynch running the ball.

:excited:

I'm wondering if they are going to allow him to take kick returns this week. My gut says no.

Regardless, I'm very excited to see how they plan on using him and I'm happy his first game is in front of the home crowd. Hopefully he'll get pumped up in return and get energized for the push into the playoffs.

I think they wait till playoff time for that.

I have Percy in 2 leagues but having a tough time plugging him into my lineup. I cant imagine he plays more then 20 snaps or so. I know he can still produce in a limited role but just have to many other options to 'roll the dice' in the biggest week of the year (FFPC format - final week of reg season)

Some of us have our FFPC playoff spot locked.

Ha , must be nice. But for teams in MUST win matchups or needing PTS bigtime, really hard to put him in. I have guys like Hopkins/Randle/Wallace just sitting there with Percy. Ugh

I'm planning to hold off starting him at least for now. Riley Cooper's emergence has given me the chance to wait and see on Harvin...

Damn...thats a tough one...they are all a toss up.

Yep it is. I really like Hopkins this week vs Oak. But i know seeing all this Percy cheerleading will probably sway me lol. Then I'll watch Hopkins go nuts on my bench while im home watching the playoffs.

Depending on Stevie Johnson's health I may start Harvin as my WR3 for the upside. It's either him or DHB.

But my guess is Harvin really doesn't play until week 13.

@Percy_Harvin: It's go time

Thoughts? Concerns?
“Just because those guys come back doesn’t mean that they have to play the whole game,’’ Carroll said. “They haven’t played in a while, so we can easily see rotations to keep those guys fresh. We’re fortunate that we might be able to do that.”

For me it essentially comes down to him, Ellington or Pryor in my flex spot (PPR). Not having any idea whatsoever what Harvin's role/snap count will be, Ellington seems like a no-brainer.

He is a decent WR3 / Flex option with upside for now, nothing more. Manage expectations and hope for the best. Unless you really have a much better option that's an obvious choice, plug him in and have fun.

Actually screw it, I'm flexing him in. I'm in the playoffs already and I'm not playing a really tough team this week. Home against his old team, a team that has a bad secondary by the way, with a pretty good QB to get him the ball. He's going to be motivated. Pure upside play. Plus the fact that I had the foresight to grab him a few weeks ago, it would be fun to watch him go off after I had the balls to start him the first week back.

Screw it, I'm throwing Vereen in there too. It's high ceiling week here on McGarnicle.

I'm with you man. I am 7-3, 4-6 (with the 2nd most points, toughest schedule and wrong decisions) and 4-6 and I am playing Harvin in 2 leagues (keeper, so worth drafting for next year) and Vereen in the other. After losing Blackmon, Wayne and Julio in multiple leagues, I have to start shooting for the high ceilings. I haven't been lucky with waivers as my injuries have killed my slots, so all the good guys are gone every week. Now I have to start the guys I have been saving all year.

I have to start Harvin (back against a wall with byes) and with the injury to mike James I may be starting Vereen too!

Which kicker are you starting? Do you carry a backup TE?
Normally, I'm in the camp that nobody cares about your fantasy team, but with the Harvin situation, I'm actually enjoying hearing about the options people have and what decisions they're making. As many others are, I'm on the fence about what to do with him and all input is welcomed.

Try this one out: Choosing JUST 1 of these WR's in the most crucial week of the year!!

Harvin

Wallace

Randle

Hopkins

You can make a case for any of them! Face into palm!

I have been sitting on this dude for 10 weeks. It is probably the wrong call, but like a kid on christmas morning, i can't wait anymore. To the bench Eric Decker.

As of now, I'm starting him over Keenan Allen in all three of my leagues.

This is assuming practice goes well and he's ready to play. Even on a limited snap count I like his odds to take a touchdown to the house.

As others have stated. Christmas has arrived early and I want to play with my shiny new toy.

What the...

I am also strongly considering the upside play. The alternatives as final WR are Bowe, Steve Smith, Dobson or Wright. I think they'd all be safe plays, but Harvin could potentially be spectacular.

I'd be inclined to go with Harvin over choices like that since he has the highest ceiling in my opinion. I would not be starting him over someone like Keenan Allen this week, though.

This.

I'm going with him over Boykin and Marvin Jones. But I don't think I'd do it over Allen. Not till I saw him play a game.

Hello Shark Pool,

Because you are dying to know here it is.

In one league My WR are:

Brandon Marshell

Alshon Jeffery

AJ Green

Riley Cooper

Golden tate

And now Percy is in the mix.

I know I'm going to completely #### this up this week and then I have to pick another WR next week to cover bye's....ugh.

Sometimes I feel like depth it a curse not a blessing, I'm considering benching AJ Green this week for crying out loud...WTF am I thinking?

Rotoworld:

Percy Harvin (hip) will practice Wednesday.

As expected. Coach Pete Carroll already stated over the weekend that Harvin would give it a go Wednesday. The Seahawks will monitor him throughout the week before making a decision on Harvin's game-day status for Week 11. The expectation is that he'll play limited snaps ahead of the Week 12 bye then be all systems go starting in Week 13. We'll have plenty of updates through the weekend.

Do we think Harvin will be a gadget-type player like he was in Minnesota? or a more traditional downfield receiver?

Harvin does so much damage in space there is no need to treat him like a down field receiver. While he may draw coverage deep and catch a longer pass, most of his touches will likely come within 5, 7, 10 yards from the LOS. Think bubble screens, occasional rush/carry, and the like. I think the Vikings figured that out after a little while and were doing a good job of getting him the ball in space.

I started to think about this today in the context of limited snaps his first week back. Yes, he's dangerous in space, but he's a volume threat that typically gets around 10 yards per catch, then a 40 yard TD that makes your week. So if he's only going to play 30 snaps or whatever, the odds of that big play diminish.I'm still on the fence for this week.

Rotoworld:

Percy Harvin (hip) was limited in Seahawks practice Wednesday.
Harvin is probably staring at a "questionable" tag on Friday, but he is expected to be active against the Vikings. Slated for a snap count, Harvin will offer some upside but plenty of risk as a boom-or-bust WR3 fantasy option.

He gets 10ypc with ponder... 13 with farve.

Don't know if this has been posted yet but Seahawks WR coach Kippy Brown said on the radio today that he thinks Harvin will play Sunday.

I agree with this line of thought. I'll probably start him over Fitzgerald. Upside.

Go time (rotoworld):

Percy Harvin (hip) was upgraded to "full" in Thursday's practice.

It all but ensures that Harvin will make his 2013 debut against his former team this weekend, even if he earns a "questionable" tag on Friday's injury report. Coach Pete Carroll had said how Harvin responded to practicing on Wednesday would be key to his Week 11 status, and the fact that he's done so with a full practice is a good indication he's ready to return. Harvin is expected to be on a snap count against the Vikings, making him a boom-or-bust WR3. Owners would be best served by keeping Harvin benched until after the Seahawks' Week 12 bye.

Rotoworld:

Percy Havin (hip) is listed as probable for Week 11 against Minnesota.
Despite the "P" tag, coach Pete Carroll wasn't fully committal on Harvin suiting up against his former team, saying Harvin "has a chance to play." Still, Harvin has been activated from PUP and is expected to dress in Week 11, playing limited snaps as a slot receiver. Harvin's snap count will hurt his Week 11 ceiling, but how he performs in the limited doses will provide owners with a tell on how useful he will be during the fantasy playoffs.
