Steelers and Brownies have same record with 2 games to go.

If Steelers lose to St. Louis and beat Baltimore they will finish undefeated in AFC North games.

If Browns win remaining 2 games they will win division with a better record than the Steelers.

Just wondering if historically this has ever happened. Its got potential this year.

Not sure but I know the Bengals managed to come in last out of 4 in the old AFC Central with a 5-1 record in divisional games (8-8) overall.

Looks like the year was 1989.

That's interesting! The frustration with that season must have caused them to "give up". I think the next 10-12 years was they're big-funk period before Lewis took over and turned things around (and now he's on the hotseat).

Dang, now I remember that year.

That was the year they beat Houston 62-7 in the next to last week, including an onside kick and then a pooch kickoff. Wyche ran up the score on the premise that they had to beat Houston so bad the Oilers would lose the following weak (which actually worked).

Then on Christmas night, the last night of the season on Monday Night Football, they met the Vikings in what might be the only non-Super Bowl interconference playoff game against the Vikings.

If the Vikings won, they'd make the playoffs. Pittsburgh would get the last AFC spot and the Bengals and Packers would be out.

If the Bengals won, they'd make the playoffs. Green Bay would get the last NFC spot and the Vikings and Steelers would be out.

The Bengals lost 29-21 :goodposting:

They went to the playoffs next year, winning the AFC Central. They Beat the Oilers in the wildcard round but then lost to the Raiders in the notorious "all the Bengals get the flu" game
