Has any team even expressed interest in Marvin Harrison? (1 Viewer)

It seems he hasn't even been brought in for a visit as far as I can tell. Is it that he wants a big payday or that he is demanding a significant role?

Obviously he is in decline and at the end of his career but he still showed last season that he can play and one would think he'd at least get a few sniffs on the market.

When he was released everyone assumed he' land in Philly given their needs and that being his hometown, but they don't even seem to be interested.

Was last season his last season?

He will not play anywhere for Veteran minimum and be the #3 guy. Maybe a #2 but not a #3.

I say he's done. read an article about he doesn't love the game that much to be a PT player. I'll have to remember where I read it.

If Boldin is traded it seems like he would be a nice one year fit for the Cards.

With Breaston and Fitz and put Marvin in the slot. Warner is the type of QB that Marvin needs.

I'd be shocked if Marvin played again. He's clearly lost a step(or 3) and its not like he'd be a good mentor for younger WRs. Why should anyone want him? Also, has the gun charge thing been resolved? If not, that could also be a problem.

Could it be that he shot somebody? Investigation still pending. Doesn't he own a strip club too? Seems like he's falling into the dark world. Teams don't want the headache if he's gonna surround himself with that type of environment.

There must be something else going on. I thought for sure, SOMEONE would have made a move for him by now. He may be washed up, he may have lost a step or two, but the man still has heart and can bring a lot of veteran experience to a team. As a Lions fan, I would LOVE to see him there before he hangs 'em up. But I think Philly would make the most sense. Kind of surprised they haven't tried getting him.

Is he taking a break to make a decision later? Is he asking for some ridiculous amount of money? Does he have some other undisclosed injury?

As far as I know he owns a car wash, garage and a bar. Never heard of him owning a strip club. I guess the shooting onvestigation is still pending, but its been almost a year since it happned which tells me its not likley going to amount to anything, but I agree it adds a black cloud over his head. He's certainly lost a step, but can still contibute as a possession WR to a team that has playof and beyond aspirations.

If Harrison was willing to take a lower contract number he would have just stayed in Indy. The only way he signs somewhere is as a starter with a decent salary on a playoff caliber team. That leaves Philly and Jacksonville...maybe Miami, Chicago, or Minnesota if those teams start to question the youth they have at wideout and feel the need to add a vet.

The shooting is a non-issue.Charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence to charge him or anyone. I do like the correlation of strip club and "dark world" though  I think the thing here is that he's done and he's never been a "mentor" type Philly is and has been a terrible fit. When is the last time they signed a washed up former Pro-Bowler? They didn't even bother resigning Dawkins.

NFL | Harrison could be without a team in 2009

ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports free-agent WR Marvin Harrison (Colts) has received a sparse number of inquiries from other NFL teams since being released by the Indianapolis Colts. While it may be hard to see him without a team in 2009, it is a real possibility.

I think he'll sign somewhere. Harrison is just in the middle of his coming to terms with a reality that every aging player must come to. That not only would you not be our #1, we can't even guarantee full-time duty.

That's a big gulp of pride for a player who once dominated. Not everybody can do it. Sometimes it's easier to retire.

I think Len's right on the money here. Just watching him play the last couple years he really is a shell of his former self. Just doesn't look like he has the fire to play. It shows by the lack of interest from the other 31 teams in the league. "IF" he does play though, I think it'll be back with the Colts.
