Has anyone moved Selvin yet? (1 Viewer)

I picked Selvin up earlier in the week based on Henry's leg injury. I was about to drop him last night when I heard the drug test news on Henry (thanks FBG's!!!). I'm thinking of moving Selvin while the gettin's good and before Shanny screws the whole thing up. Just trying to get a gauge for Selvin's current worth by seeing if anyone's moved him (or has attempted to move him) and, if so, what did you get?

The Henry owner in my league is down to R. Bush and D. Ward as viable RB's. I'm thinking about offering Selvin for one of his receivers - Ocho Cinco, Driver, or Javon, in that order (although I'd have to think twice about Javon).

Let's hear your deals or possible deals....

good luck on getting Chad Johnson for...Selvin Young.
As I said, it's a starting point for discussion. I don't think it would fall into the "insulting offer" category by any stretch. It's going to come down to how desperate the Henry owner is. Driver might be where we eventually end up, but no harm in asking for Chad.

Is Henry done? Selvin is the starter for which weeks? Bell, Sapp...?

I think Selvin's value is the same as likely starter if Henry is out with finishing the season unlikely.

In other words, a 3rd/4th RB.

Just offered the guy who has Henry (also McCallister and little RB depth - Brandon Jackson is his only other guy) Young, Lee Evans & Ron Curry for Randy Moss. Haven't heard back.

Currently holding for now... Have him on the Practice Squad, and could possibly activate him with Westbrook's injury, and the injury to Rudi. Only offer I have received so far is Jamar Williams/Reggie Brown for Young which I turned down since I believe his value will skyrocket over the next week or two..

He was traded in my 12 team league for B.Engram, to many unknows to get much value, such as what role with Bell, Sapp, play, and how long will the appeal process take for Henry, 4 weeks, 6 weeks?

I think you HOLD Young until Henry is proven to be out for the year. Then you will get HUGE value.

Right now, you are gonna trade him for some WR2 that will probably not even start for you.

But if you think Henry's court battle will last months like some have speculated....sell now and get what you can.

Upside. Ever heard of it? Whoever got Engram apparently has not.

Just offered Young and J Walker for Randy Moss (Moss is on the team that has Henry). We will see what happens.
Good idea, I just offered Young and S. Smith for Moss to the Henry owner, who I play this week.
Let me know if that offer is accepted/rejected/countered, and I will let you know on my end. Should be interesting to see what happens since the offers are similar.
Will do.
Just sent a follow-up to the guy with Henry:
Dave, I just sent you a trade offer and wanted to send a follow-up note.I have a two other offers for Selvin Young and I'd like to move him. If I don't hear from you by tomorrow, I will move him to another team.Thanks.

Just putting a little heat under the guy. And it's mostly true. Someone else in the league has offered me 85 for Young and Bowe.

So you are telling me...Offering a rookie RB with career stats of 138 rushing yards, 57 receiving yards, 0 tds, and 1 fumble on 20 touches who is not yet a starting RB in the NFL fora WR who has led the AFC in receiving the last 4 years, has the record for the most receiving yards caught in one game, has career stats of494 receptions, 7,240 receiving yards, 44 td's, and 1 lost fumble on 510 touches and is only 29 years old is not an "insulting offer"????? :goodposting: :lmao:

I picked up Young late last night, and then I proposed a trade to the Henry owner.

S. Young and D. Mason for Jon Kitna and any throw away on his team.

Still waiting for a answer.

Just to let you know his other QB is P. Manning so he only needs Kitna 1 week.

I totally disagree. It's not the end of the world, but identifies you as a tool (for fantasy trading purposes only. Nothing personal). As for me, I'm going to offer Young to the LT owner straight up. I don't think it would fall into the "insulting offer" category by any stretch.

First of all, I'm in a redraft league. Age is irrelevent. Secondly, the Henry owner is stacked at WR (CJ, Driver, Javon, and Branch) and very thin at RB (Henry, Bush, Ward, and then bupkis). When (not if) he loses Henry, he's toast and he knows it. Selvin could be GOLD in the Denver offense or could be fools gold - who knows. The bottom line is that he'll be getting the Denver starting tailback in whom Shanny seems to have a tremendous amount of confidence. As I said, the offer was a "starting point" for discussions. I also stated clearly that we would likely work our way to Donald Driver or so (I would not give up Selvin for anything less than Driver by the way).If you'd be insulted by my offer, then you should probably get a little perspective in your life and realize this is a GAME we all play for fun - not some life or death pursuit. You probably miss out on a lot of good trade opportunities due to your sensitive nature (although some women seem to like the sensitive types)

Wow...alot of "emo's" (as my 14 year old daughter calls them) on this board today.

If its for money its not a game, and that offer no matter how you spin it is insulting to anyone who actually knows a thing or two about fantasy. Its a great trade for you if it goes through but no league that allows owners to Veto would let it go through. 2005 LJ for 85 is one thing (and i'd at the time have considered that a stretch) Young for him is a joke. If it does go through i'd imagine your trading days in that league would be over or seriously damaged. Depending on the commish you may never get to see it through either.

It doesnt matter if you had the top 5 WR's in the league and had 5 backup RB's on your team, being offered Selvin Young for Ocho is insulting. If you want to start trade discussions try not insulting the person off the bat. As for your second paragraph, i don't know what i should say. Being insulted by a trade offer in fantasy football means that i think fantasy football is a life or death pursuit, i am sensitive, and i am emo? Unless there is some sort of logic behind this (and i have yet to know of any link between playing FF and being emo..), i find it sad that in your defense of one of your previous statements you resort to name-calling.

for all those with Selvin young, I just hope you know that for now his trade value is taking a hit.

Sounds like Henry will be a go this week and some reports indicate that this appeal could keep him in the backfield for a month, if not more.

If you havent unloaded Young already, you might have to wait a few weeks.

Is your daughter the owner with Chad Johnson? If that's the case, I take back what I said. You have a shot at that trade. Good luck.

Very :goodposting: No Chad Johnson this week ;)

Been offered Branch for him in a 10 team PPR league. Thinking about taking it since I just picked Young up off the scrap heap and am thin at WR with Boldin hurting and Galloway very inconsistent. Any thoughts? Start LJ and Westbrook (or Buckhalter) at RB each week.

If you haven't already, bug the Henry owner.I have LJ and Westy as well and am debating wether to offer Young to the Henry owner for Buckhalter..

Selvin who?

Exactly how many hundred RBs has denver gone through in the last 3 years?

Mike Bell? I sold him after his 2TD preseason game last year.

The odds Young is the feature RB for Denver the next 4-5 years? Uh what's less then zero?

I have Young in a dynasty league, and I'm keeping him! Look, Henry will most definitely be suspended, its just a matter of when. John Clayton thinks 3-4 weeks of a court battle that Henry has zero chance of winning, so four weeks from now, would put us at week 9 of this season, with 7 games to play. Between now and then, I think Shanny grooms Young to be the heir-apparent, gives him more carries per game, more work. Shanny sees the writing on the wall..if Henry waits till week 9 to accept the suspension,he can't play until week 9 of 2008, he'll be 30 at that point..basically, its the end of the trail for Trav Henry. Young will most likely be the starter the rest of this season, and if he does well enough, he will be the start come opening day, 2008...he has immense value going forward in dynasty leagues, and, still has great value the remainder of 2007, esp. once Henry is suspended, because he most definitely will be.

I traded him yesterday. Here was the deal:

Selvin Young / Calvin Johnson

for

Marvin Harrison / DeSean Foster

I was offered Joey Galloway for Selvin.... My reply was:

I'd do that trade...

Let me know, sleep on it whatever - It's a whacky year and I have no idea what's going on in Denver.... I'd hate to give him up and see him become the next great Denver thing but, It would also suck to trade him and he never breaks 5 points.......... Well,if he were a bust it would certainly effect my offer in future deals we made.......Let me know before Sunday

I think it's weak to take advantage of such situations and as I alluded to, If I made such a deal I'd certainly look to rectify it in the future if Selvin never starts.....

I can see people disagreeing with what I did and some of this game needs to be taking chances and gambles on both owners sides but.... Hey, it also makes it easier to deal with other owners in the future if your'e not THAT GUY looking to take advantage of every little ripple.... stuff like this should not need to be rushed.

I'd feel like a turd if I forced someone to make a quick deal on an issue like this.
