Has there been a worse Dynasty rookie draft ? (1 Viewer)

Granted there are really talented players but not really for 06 !

Bush - likley the consensus #1.1 in all dynasty leagues - is in true RBBC with Duece and bennett will get a few carries as well.

D. Williams - great talent - stuck in true RBBC with Foster who is also really talented.

L. Maroney - stuck in true RBBC with Dillon who should still egt the lions share.

Addai - in true RBBC with Rhodes who IMO should get the lions share as well at least early.

Young - likley watches either Volek or McNair for a year

Leinart - watches Warner for a year

Cutler - watches Plummer for at least 1/2 a year if Plummer ####s up.

S. Holmes and Chad Jackson could be the 2 players who actually start !

Granted maroney , Bush and Williams along with Young and Leinart are uber talented. But I cannot see any of these making a huge splash now in 06.

First season that no Rookie RB is really in a postion to be Da Man !

Maybe i am on crack and can't see the woods through the trees but its how i am seeing it at least right now.

There aren't many guys that have stepped right in and had a huge first year. LT and Portis come to mind, but not many others. Caddy was RB19 last year.

 overall, year 1 production won't be there...but this years draft class is deep. dynasty owners should be very pleased with this group of playerstop 2 RB (4 total in 1st plus white in 2nd)top 3 QB (3 in 1st plus a few decent prospect after that)top 6 TE (and one of the deepest TE classes i can remember)i think you're way off on this one

A few years back, Charles Rogers was the consensus 1.01.

(Even that bad draft produced Larry Johnson and Willis McGahee, off the top of my head).

Who cares? If you were planning on having any of these guys in your starting lineup in 2006, it wasn't going to matter anyway.

youre getting too caught up on the short view. Talent-wise, this is the deepest rookie class in a long time. Now, for the skill positions, its not nearly as amazing as 2004 at the top, but depth-wise its astounding. dont let the draft positions fool you.

I think the problem with this years rookie draft is the WR corp. It appears to be unusually weak. However, the TE group looks to be very solid. Balance? We will need at least 2 years to see how this class develops. If you were hoping to save your keeper/dynasty team in 2006 with a high rookie draft pick, you are looking for fool's gold. Owners have to look at a 2/3 year time horizon to see how things work out-

If you play in an IDP league, this draft is DEEP. If you play in a league that only starts offensive players, the draft is still deep, considering the talent at RB & TE alone.

There are not any top flight WR prospects, as we have seen the last few years, but there are at least 5 RB that could push for playing time this year; a TON of TE that will play this season, while landing in great offenses, and a large grouping of second tier WR prospects that, if you guess right, should start to pay dividends next year.

I've always viewed the dynasty draft as providing depth/talent for the future. If I can get some year one productivity, all the better, but I don't count on it. So I like the situation for those first few backs (and possibly LenDale as well), the QBs, and TEs. This should be a good draft.

I'm in a different situation than most dynasty leagues I guess, as we have a hard cap, and contracts for players so you can't just look at the guy as having him for his whole career. Also, our positions are roughly equal in value (LT, Steve Smith and Gates all had a 12 pt per game value via VBD over last starter). And we start a lot of IDPs... so to me this is an extremely deep draft. I'm picking last in a non-serpentine draft and I believe I'll probably get at least one player who will start for me right away despite having a very deep team.

The title should be changed from "Has there been a worse redraft rookie draft??"
