Hassel or Cassel....Hasselback's outlook? (1 Viewer)

SEA just picked up Samie Parker (of all people...) to 'shore up' the WR corps.

What are the thoughts on Hasselback's outlook in the next few weeks or after the bye when maybe Engram and Branch are back (albeit, rusty)?

Would you rather have a QB like Cassel? How should Cassel matchup for the season, assuming NE doesn't bring anyone else in?

By the way, I am personally looking at Hassel/Cassel as a #2 QB behind Delhomme, who seems to be ok right now. So, the question really is for the whole season, as a #2/fill-in QB.

Til Hasselbeck gets his WR's back........Cassell>>Hasselbeck

When Hasselbeck gets his WR's back........Cassell = Hasselbeck

I don't care how many WR Hasselback has lost. No way can I put a guy who has not started a football game since high school ahead of Hasselback at this time.

Hassel or Cassel? Stuck with that decision would be a pain in the assel. :P :lmao:

edit: I agree with NoCheese.

Similar situation but Rodgers also avail. In either case it's a thing of a reliable QB w/weak weapons (hass) vs real iffy QB w/good weapons (the other 2). No easy answer IMO.

Does the fact that he hasn't started matter? Last week, he played most of the game against NFL talent (KC haters, save it) and was respectable.

I think at this does matter if we are talking about making a choice on one or the other right now. I am not suggesting Cassel can not succeed but what I am saying is if I am making a choice right this minute for this year on do I want Cassel or Hasselback I will choose Hasselback. He has been very successful for several years. Cassel may have great weapons around him but NE may back off on the passing game. I think Seatlle and Hasselback will have to throw a ton this year no matter who the Wrs are.

I can get on board with this logic.

Rogers... for sure. After his DET game trade him for Carson Palmer. (unless Palmer is totally lost again)
