I'm close to dropping Matty with the 2 threads rumoring that he's out for the season. Is there any updates?

Need to decide whether to snatch Torain this week or try and wait one more until we get some solid news.

Some tests were supposed to be done yesterday...some possible bleeding in the bone or something (according to Stephanie Bell of ESPN) which can lead to fractures.I now have him as a #3 in redraft league, behind Delhomme and Orton and very close to dropping him.

Matt Hasselbeck, QB SEA

News: Seattle coach Mike Holmgren told the media Monday that QB Matt Hasselbeck will miss Week 7 at Tampa Bay. "As you may have felt from my comments last week, I was a little bit — I don't want to say 'puzzled' — but I couldn't put my finger on the reason for it taking so long, to be honest. So we sent him to a specialist," Holmgren said. "He went last night, met with a doctor in Los Angeles today. As it turns out, his back situation that he had aggravated in our preseason was actually creating the problem with his leg. So now we know where we're headed as far as treatment, and it's tied in with the disk situation. It appears as though he will not be able to play this week. They put him on a series of rehab tests and so on, and as soon as he can pass those as far as strength in his leg, then we can get him back on the field. My hope is that we will have him available for the game after this one, San Francisco."

Analysis: Keep Hasselbeck reserved for Week 7 against the Bucs and hope he can return at 100 percent for Week 8 against the 49ers. When healthy, Hasselbeck is a No. 2 Fantasy QB but hopefully once he's healed he can return as an elite QB. Seneca Wallace is expected to start for Hasselbeck against the Bucs.

This could turn out to be a year long ordeal. Back injuries are tricky. Its hard to predicted if/when it'll be healed. They also get aggrivated easily. Worst case is that he'll be out long enough to not warrant bringing him back at all. If he's out 3 games and we lose them all. Then they may as well let him take the year off and heal up. I hope he can come back at SF. that being said, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he winds up missing MANY games.

Probably 2 of only a handful of teams in the country that have this 3-headed QB monster. Yikes.

This could turn out to be similar to Kitna's situation. He may need to surgery to repair the herniated disc in his back that is causing the leg pain...if it can't be treated conservatively.

Seneca Wallace, Charlie Frye to share the practiceload

Posted by Danny O'Neil

Seneca Wallace and Charlie Frye will be splitting time at practice, coach Mike Holmgren said during his weekly press conference Wednesday.

"Just see how Seneca's leg responds to practice," coach Mike Holmgren said. "If everything is OK there, then Seneca will probably start the game. If it's not, Charlie will start. But they both have to practice just to see how Seneca feels."

WR Koren Robinson will not practice on Wednesday. Holmgren said the trainer's assessment was Robinson needed one day off from practice this week. The decision was that would be Wednesday he'll miss.

WR Deion Branch was expected back this week, Holmgren said Monday. The coach wasn't so sure on Wednesday. A status report will come from practice. Branch did not practice last week after injuring his heel during the loss to the Giants.
Also, the team cut WR Michael Bumpus and signed Justin Forsett. Bumpus was later placed on the Practice Squad, which is a little odd because Bumpus beat out Jordan Kent at the beginning of the year but now Kent is on the active roster and Bumpus isn't.
