Vikings fans aren't going to like this, but considering the Bears are already 3-0 vs. the division with 2 road wins I think they'd have to completely fall apart not to win the division.

In order for the Vikes to win the divison they would have to:

a) Gain two games in overall record on the Bears to win the division outright (their best shot)

b) Gain one game in overall record for a tie and win all 5 of the division games they have left, including @Bears (the Bears aren't going to finish worse than than 5-1 in the division with games left @Detroit and home vs. the Vikings and Packers). They would also have to have a better record vs. common opponents.

No, I'm not giving the Packers or Lions any chance.

Their schedule is so easy outside the division as well. I don't think anyone can or will win the division besides the Bears unless they have massive defensive injuries.

Of course they haven't, as there is still quite a bit left to the season.

But road victories against the Pack and Vikings will go a long way. Especially against their only legit competition - the Vikings.

THIS nugget doesn't build a strong case for the ViQueens:

It's been 152 minutes and counting since the last Minnesota Vikings offensive touchdown.

More than likely. Their schedule is piss-poor easy, with maybe 4 difficult games. And after the 2nd Division game vs. Minny Dec, 3rd, they face St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Detroit and Green Bay to roll into the playoffs.

Of course this is assuming there are no major injuries to the D. Anything can happen of course. :)

They have a rough matchup next week with Seattle. If they win that, I'll start feeling good about things.

I have to say that this 3 game stretch worries me a bit though

w10 @Giants

w11 @Jets

w12 @Patriots

Now they get to play Seattle without Alexander while he should be back for the Vikings. I have a good feeling about the Bears this year and - call me  - think they have a shot at running the table.

Barring injuries/Rex Grossman, absolutely yes.
That's just it though... This is football. Injuries are bound to happen. A couple of key once can turn any team into a mess. I'm as high on Chi as anyone, but in week 3 of the NFL, nothing is won or lost but 3 games. There's a lot of football and a lot can happen.

...And they should be 3-0...if they get the offense going, they will be tough to beat!! (am I talking about the Bears or the Vikings? :loco: )

The NFL just annouced it has Cancelled the remaining 13 games of the season for the Bears because the Bears have a 1 game lead in the NFC North after 3 weeks.

They have asked all Bears fans and players to prepare for a 1st round bye for the next 14 weeks. The rest of the NFL will for some ungodly reason play out the remainder of their schedules to see who will compete in the playoffs.

This has left a bad feeling with alot of fans because they felt this decision should have been made after week 3 of the preseason when the Bears had already mathematically clinched the NFC North Preseason Title.

Best of luck in Miami come this February!

3-0 v.s the NFC North, with two of the wins on the road? I'd say yeah, barring a miracle season from the Vikings, it's wrapped up.

It's amazing that only three weeks into the season, so many people can say yes to this question.

That being said, I vote yes.

My guess is in order for the Vikes to take the division, they needed to win badly at home and they blew it; it's going to be much tougher to win in the windy city. It's likely now that the Bears go 6-0 in the NFC norrus.

Sure, they'll have an easy regular season, get a homefield playoff game then lose at Soldier field like they did against Phily/Carolina.

I think they may have the NFC wrapped up already....

Their toughest games were against:

@ Minnesota

Seattle

Miami

Tampa

@ NY Giants

@ NE Patriots

they already took care of the ViQueens.

Miami, Tampa, the Giants and the Patriots are shells of what we thought they'd be.

...and now Seattle is gonna get whooped up on without Alexander.

16-0 Bears

I won't go that far but the Bears definitely have the schedule on their side and if they beat Seattle they will have the tiebreaker.

i'm pretty sure the vikes should be 1-2 if it weren't for a boneheaded call by John Fox in week 2 on the lateral call which led to the minnesota TD pass by Longwell. We'll see what happens when they start playing teams with better offenses here. Rex made some mistakes that limited the offense to only 19 points

And the Bears finally had to play a real NFL team and if it wern't for a bonehead play the Bears would be 2-1.

you mean grossman's boneheaded interception that tommie harris bailed him out of to get the winning TD pass? I saw a dominant defense make things happen yet again

Exactly. The Bears are one nonsense fumble away from having the same record as the Vikings. I love how all of these Bears fans are running around like their team just dominated a team they were destined to meet in the playoffs. The Vikings, with an entire coaching staff still in their first year, through the course of one game, almost beat a team that most 'experts' had going to the NFC title game, explosed a quarterback that the sports media has been blowing nonstop for two weeks, and showed that the Bears may not be a head and shoulders above most of the NFC. I wouldn't be all excited if I was a Bears fan.But then again, logic has never been something Bears fans posess with any abundance.

Seahawks take the AFC title this year :banned:
:lmao: ...and the Brewer's to win the AL Penant? Can we all stop playing "if wasn't for this, this, that and the other the Vikings would have won 47-3!!" They didn't. They beat the Panthers. The Vikings are 2-1, the Bears 3-0. Have the Bears won the division? Hardly. Does 2 road victories and 3 within the division give them a big advantage? Abso-freaking-lutely. To disagree is to be out of touch with reality. To say the Bears have rapped up the division 3 games into the season is equally so. Bears fans, I suggest tempered optimism. Vikings fans, well, stop whining.

Barring a colossal choke job, the Bears have it in the bag. I am genuinely happy for the Bear fans as they could possibly have back-to-back playoff teams. Unprecedented!

The Bears schedule is ridiculously easy and they just beat the toughest team they'll face (even 4 losses would shock me).
