Have you ever eaten any food at Dairy Queen? (1 Viewer)

comfortably numb

I love crap food but would never hit me to get a burger at DQ.

I assume people do but can't be that many people eating there, right?

I've had a burger there a few times, when I really wanted ice cream but needed to eat some real food first.

They're 'aight - no complaints.

They remind me of the burgers you typically get at HS football games.

It's the best fastfood burger I've ever had. I'd eat there every time I needed a quick meal if it didn't take 5+ minutes for them to make it.

It's pretty solid for its price range. The 5 Buck Lunch (burger, dog or chicken strips plus fries, drink and sundae) is a sweet deal.

:goodposting:

This burger used to come with lettuce and tomato in this area. 5 buck lunch is a really good value and decent burger.

I spent a few months driving around the country after college- had never been in a DQ prior or since. Don't remember the burgers being good or bad- just foodstuff.

What I do remember is at some point we started seeing billboards for the "World's Largest DQ" in hundreds of miles. By the time we got there, we were ####### jonesing to have whatever it was they were selling, and to see this Taj Mahal of fast fooderies. I'm guessing every DQ in the world is exactly the same size and that this one happens to be maybe 5 square feet bigger- it was no different than any other DQ. Like calling a Motel 6 room the biggest Motel 6 in the world... yeah- ok.

Anything thread worthy?

a handful of definite highlights...

but I don't have the time to do any of it justice.

With all the commercials touting the food lately Ive been wondering where these places even are? In my life Ive seen one Dairy Queen that actually sold food and the two that are semi near me right now don't. Maybe its a regional things no idea.

Don't remember these up north but they're around the south. Our nearest outlet center has one that's OK while shopping.

we got one in north attleboro, mass...I think Warren Buffett is an investor

My local DQ is open 12 months a year...in PA.

The wife and kids get ice cream, I get a footlong chili cheese dog or a flamethrower burger. Yum

I had ice cream with my kids at one near my house last week and it dawned on me that I've never eaten DQ food in my life. Not out of any health or religous reasons - the occasion has just never come up.

was hungry and got a chili dog

promptly had diarrhea but the chili dog was good for the price

The one near my house always has 'Help Wanted' on their sign (been that way for the 11+ years I've lived there now), and I never see more than 1-2 cars there at any given time. Makes me leery of them.

I believe Dairy Queen is a Berkshire company/brand.

I eat there about once every other week for lunch. They have a lunch special that I always get. Bacon burger, fries, soda, and a sundae, all for $5. Can't beat it. Food is much better than your typical McD's, BK, etc..., and cheaper.

Big fan.

Chicken Strip Basket - If you just call it Chicken Strips, its' OK...but for some reason, calling it a "basket" makes me want it more. I used to get this every couple months when I lived back in VA. It's pretty good. I like the toast they give you with it. Random but nice.

They occasionally have AWESOME fries...I don't know why it's only occasionally. I was road-tripping to Pittsburgh one time and stopped at one near a turnpike exit. Don't even remember where...I got a large order of fries. They were fresh, hot, and perfectly salted. I STILL remember that order of fries. Strange.

Only ever had a burger and chicken strips from them but it wasn't terrible so I would say it's ok for something quick and fast.
