HBOs stand-alone streaming service is now live: HBO Now, as its titled, is available starting today for anybody with an Internet connection and at least a begrudging acceptance of Apple products no cable or satellite service required. Cord cutters rejoice!

Intriguingly, HBO is making a special offer available. Customers who sign up for HBO Now this month will get a 30-day introductory free trial period. Were not saying you could sign up and then binge all four seasons of Game of Thrones for free then unsubscribe or anything but you could, in theory, hypothetically, if you really wanted to. Of course, once youre on the Westeros heroin, you would want to keep subscribing to watch the rest of season 5 to get your fix.

Heres a list of HBO titles available, ranked in order of this writers personal binge preference: Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, The Wire, Rome, Deadwood, True Detective, Sex and the City, Veep, Silicon Valley, Girls, True Blood and The Leftovers.

The details: Subscribe by downloading the HBO Now app on iPhone or iPad, or directly via Apple TV. The cost is $14.99 per month.

From what I've seen, it appears the Apple exclusivity is for 3 months only -- after which we might see it available on Roku, Amazon Fire, etc.

I can wait 3 months.
