Joffrey and the hookers...

Smoke demon in no way reminded me of the Lost smoke monster. No annoying click-clacking sound, and the smoke demon actually took shape, using hands to pull itself out and then forming into a standing body. Thought it captured the book pretty well.

Some props for Tywin too. Dude rolls in and takes command. "Idiots, the prisoners can work."

Not sure what the scene with Rob and the field nurse/doctor was all about, but I enjoyed it. Plus she was pretty hot.
With that track record of the series, there is a 100% chance that she will be showing her boobs at some point.

Was that Joffrey scene in the book? The one with the whores? Gruesome. I think the show has established that he's evil. With all of the things that are pared down, I'm not sure we need to see more Joffrey being cruel.
Not in the book, they are definitely pushing his loathsomeness to the extreme

Why did the shadow thing's "mom" (the red-haired chick) have to travel by a canoe with the other guy to the shore to give birth? Maybe I was just half asleep, but I didn't understand any of that sequence and then BOOM demon spawn, which didn't help me to understand things.

It was a passage somewhere. Davos was surprised there was a gate blocking it.

I think Stannis and Davos rode about by #### and surprised Renly's camp (Cat was still there). He gave Renly a night to think over his decision. Stannis went back to the boat, but was asking Davos to smuggle the Red Priestess back on the island. I assumed it was a passage to Renly's camp so she could try and poison him. Obviously, she has something more sinister in mind.

In the book it was an old smugglers cave under Storms End, that's where Stannis first gets his hand in the waring. He camps outside threatening a siege before he meets up with Renly.

Just because it wasn't in the books doesn't mean it didn't happen. The books can't cover everything that occurs in King's Landing, after all.

At first I thought this was their weird way of working Jeyne Westerling into the story, but I guess not.
I think she will supplant Jeyne. I think they've written her out, which is a real shame imo.
I thought that WAS Jeyne at first. Im 98% sure Jeyne is cast and will be in it this season. Perhaps that was Jeyne giving a fake name and later he sees her again after battle etc.

You are correct. We just got introduced to Jeyne. You didn't think they'd give that much face time and that many lines (with that many lingering Robb glances) for a throwaway chick, did you?

I'm also still not buying the people they cast for Stannis and Mellisandre - but she does indeed have a fantastic body.

The night is dark and full of terrors.

The episode has to be the final "setup" type I'd say. Last week's was so good with Theon that this was a slight downgrade, but as I said earlier, from here on out winter is ####### coming.

so, was that thing Stannis' "baby", or was it just something that she conjured up? did she need Stannis, um, "input" to be able to create that thing?

I know he's supposed to be the leader of the mean family, but I kinda like Tywin.

It is about the same point in S1 that the ball really got rolling- the end of episode 4 when Cat arrests the Imp.

He's come a long way since Last Action Hero...

oh, did some "research" last night and found a ton of Shae's prior "movies". Tube sites, galore.

She was a busy girl in her younger years.
:excited: nice find
Pm
Yep. or let us know w:e:re we can find it...
I'll defer to JTG. I just perused google images (unfiltered) and was impressed by some of the :pics:
see bolded above. Search "Sibel Kekilli". Voila!~@~@

"How good of a swordsman can Loras be? He's been stabbing Renly Baratheon for years and he's not dead." :lmao:
That was good. :lmao:
That's the Renly sense of humor that's been lacking throughout this show. His casting, and treatment by the writers, is just about the only thing I don't like about the series.EDIT: that wasn't Renly, durh. Anyway, my point still stands, lol.

The viewers guide says they were at Casterly Rock in last weeks ep....was that where Robb was at the beginning where he defeated the Lannister army again?
