so, for the sake of discussion, who would have the most legitimate claim to the throne? Gendry?
I believe Stannis is next in line after Robert by the traditions or laws or whatever.so, for the sake of discussion, who would have the most legitimate claim to the throne? Gendry?
Stannis.Gendry isn't a "true born" son.so, for the sake of discussion, who would have the most legitimate claim to the throne? Gendry?
Probably, but he'd have a hard time proving it. Ned dead, mother dead, Robert dead, Jon Arryn dead.Edit. Ned thought Stannis had claim even knowing about the bastards.so, for the sake of discussion, who would have the most legitimate claim to the throne? Gendry?
By Westeros law/tradition it would be Stannis. Daenerys' family has been deposed. Gendry, by law, wouldn't have much of a claim at all.so, for the sake of discussion, who would have the most legitimate claim to the throne? Gendry?
Unless he was legitimized. Although I don't know who would want to do that.By Westeros law/tradition it would be Stannis. Daenerys' family has been deposed. Gendry, by law, wouldn't have much of a claim at all.so, for the sake of discussion, who would have the most legitimate claim to the throne? Gendry?
If you're a Targaryen supporter this is true. If a Baratheon supporter, it's Stannis. Given what we currently know from the show of course. Then again, legitimacy seems to really boil down to who can kick the most ###.I thought Daenerys had the most legit claim?

I wonder if they get right to it next week - I think they have to lay a little more ground work first. They might even be able to stretch it out to the end of the season. It will be interesting to see how the show handles The House of the Undying next week

Five down and five to go.I just want to sadly point out that the next last episode marks the halfway point of the season.
I noticed that, too! No idea who that was.there's some creepy guy milling around in the shadows kind of listening in.

Stannis. However, as has been pointed out multiple times by multiple characters, the person that can hold the throne is the the king. Legitimacy means nothing.so, for the sake of discussion, who would have the most legitimate claim to the throne? Gendry?
Yes, you just need some of his account info...assuming his cable provider offers HBOGo.If my coworker has hbo, but has no intention if using hbo, can i use his info to use hbo go at home??

Not sure what you're getting at - I rewatched it last night. Was it an army headed to Winterfell from the East or just a bunch of tress?harrenhal and the pyke in the iron islandsThere was a new piece added between Winterfell and The WallQarth was addedhave the more minor changes(not new cities) in the opening credits been mentioned? Didn't her father kill her dog at the request of the king, or was that Sansa's dog?I've only read about 3/4 of the first book, so please don't answer this, but I really hope Arya's direwolf shows up again. IIRC, didn't she just make him run off so he wouldn't be killed when he nipped Joffrey?
That's right. Sansa flipped out over that. Arya's direwolf has to return at some point, you think? They've given a lot of emphasis on the Stark direwolves to this point, so it'd be kinda stupid for them to just abandon one out of forgetfulness.'Matthias said:Sansa'sDidn't her father kill her dog at the request of the king, or was that Sansa's dog?I've only read about 3/4 of the first book, so please don't answer this, but I really hope Arya's direwolf shows up again. Ya, I agree. I guess it'd be tough for her to be as low-profile as she's being right now with a big direwolf following her around. I have a feeling he hasn't wandered too far away from her though. That's right. Sansa flipped out over that. Arya's direwolf has to return at some point, you think? That's just that weird machine/sun thing the interject throughout. The places on the map they actually show in that one are: King's Landing, Harrenhal, Pyke, Winterfell, Wall, Qarth.
Martin has not forgotten about Nymeria.Don't click on this if you're not completely done with Dance with Dragons:'Matthias said:So, bye bye doggie?'Matthias said:I've read through four of the books and one of my biggest gripes with Martin is that he's much better at creating mysterious intrigue and suspense than he is at tidying up his messes. That's right. This one has a scene showing a Stag With an arrow pointing at it

It can be a little convoluted, especially for non-book readers. But there are a ton of resources on the web that can help without spoiling anything. Check out EW.com's episode recaps (every ep recap is available and you can probably read all 15 or so in half an hour) - Hibberd does a great job of telling you what you're supposed to know at this point in whatever recap you're reading. HBO itself has some pretty neat, non-spoiler stuff too - who belongs to what house, who's on whose side, who's related to who, maps, etc... Both Westeros.org & towerofthehand.com have spoiler-free zones but be careful where you go on those sites.I don't think you need to know every piece of minutia to enjoy the show. When I first read the books, I gave up trying to keep everyone straight even with the appendix and just went along for the ride. Hell - after several rereads, I still can't keep all those damned Florents straight. Is it just me or is this show hard to follow? I'm totally lost and basically watch in hopes of seeing the blond dragon lady nakked again.

Don't you recall the stories of this great She-Wolf leading a giant pack of other wolves terrorizing the country side? I vividly remember the imagery of some wolf in the pack, maybe it was even Nymeria I don't recall, ripping a baby from the breast of its mother and
killing it. Plus Arya had herself a "wolf dream" where she as Nymeria dragged her mother's corpse out of the river.
We haven't seen the last of Nymeria, especially with Arya's story line unfolding the way it is. Seems like Arya and Nymeria are both becoming badass killers, hopefully they team up down the road.
I can usually follow around 90% of it and then I usually read wikipedia or ask here about the 10% I couldnt follow. Is it just me or is this show hard to follow? I'm totally lost and basically watch in hopes of seeing the blond dragon lady nakked again.
I watched all of the episodes once and I found I was in the same boat, so I'm going back and watching from the beginning again to see if I can fill in some blanks. Plus, it just gives me another excuse to watch again!I can usually follow around 90% of it and then I usually read wikipedia or ask here about the 10% I couldnt follow. Is it just me or is this show hard to follow? Haven't read one word from the books yet, but watching every episode more than once really helps.I watched all of the episodes once and I found I was in the same boat, so I'm going back and watching from the beginning again to see if I can fill in some blanks.
