Heading to Boston Wed. for three days - what to see? (1 Viewer)

Six of us (three couples) heading to the Back Bay to see the Reds/Sox game and generally raise hell. I worked at the Pru for two years back around the turn of the century - what's new in the last 13 years? TIA.

If you want to head across the river to Cambridge, that has changed a little with more things in Kendall Square area.

The city itself still has plenty of great restaurants in the North End.

There is more stuff down by the Seaport, but I am not sure that it is worth making a special trip out there. In the summer there are concerts out by there and the area has more life than it did 10 years ago.

We've got a dinner one night at Jake's Seafood. One of the couples bought some package at a charity event. Lobster, crab, everything.

Thanks for all the replies. Being a southern boy, those biscuits look awesome, Wilked.

I had an awesome lobster roll from James Hook Lobster a few weeks ago. That thing was packed. $17 for a large and well worth it. Also saw a jumbo in one of their tanks that literally had claws as big as my head.

The Seaport definitely has exploded, but it is more for hotel/convention traffic than anything. You're not going to find anything down there (Legal, Remy's, O'Connor's) that you couldn't find anywhere else in the city -- aside from perhaps the Harpoon brew hall.

Agreed. I would only go there if I was going to one of the concerts at Harbor Lights.

I was just trying to think of things that have changed in the last 10 years. Couldn't come up with much.

Didn't want to start a new thread, but the wife and I are heading there for a long weekend in July with another couple. What would be the most central place to stay? We have no plans as of right now except to see a Sox game. We'll likely research best restaurants/bars once it gets closer, but wanted to lock down a place soon.

FWIW, we're both using Hilton points, here's a list of the hotels they are providing - http://hhonors3.hilton.com/en_US/hh/search/findhotels/results.htm?view=LIST

Assume the top 2 are the most centrally located?
