Heading to Savannah (1 Viewer)

I'm taking my wife to Savannah Christmas Day. Was hoping to get some help on the best place to stay, things to do, and a couple of places to eat. Any advice would be appreciated.

Planters Inn is a good place to stay and Olde Pink House has pretty good grub. There are a surprising amount of decent Irish pubs.

Not sure what you would be looking for but our our only visit there was last Spring for a couple of days.

Highly recommend touring the Owens-Thomas house.

For drinks - Rocks on The Roof is a nice outdoor patio restaurant/bar on the top (9th floor?) of the Bohemian hotel on the river. Great views.

Nice area of shops on Julian Street.

The Marriott on the river is nice but on the end of the Riverfront. Nice walk along the Riverfront where there are a lot of small shops.

The on-off bus tour is quite good to get an overview of the history of the city.

If you are into ghosts, Savannah is your city.

Heard a lot about Tybee Island out on the coast but we didn't make it out there.

When we were there sand fleas were every where - flying around you like gnats.

We are most likely going to stay at the Bohemian on the river. Looked at hotels and reviews today, seemed like a good choice. Thanks for all the responses.

Fiddler's for crab cakes or, best of all, the salmon BLT.

I'd find places to drink with locals if possible.

Oh, and watch out for getting rolled.

We stayed at the Bohemian and loved it. Great little modern boutique hotel.
