What happened? I watched the game and he was fine at the end. Playing the last series and running around slapping hands.

Thanks Joffer :)

Heap missed Wednesday's workout but is fully expected to play in Week 2. He's a great fantasy play if he gets in some practice late this week.

Was is spasms? Anyway it look good to Heap.

Todd Heap (questionable, back) missed practice again Thursday.

(Updated 9/14/2006)

IMPACT

The Ravens expect Heap to play in Week 2 but he'll probably have to get back on the practice field Friday to be active for game day. He's now missed consecutive workouts. Fellow TE Daniel Wilcox (questionable, back) is struggling with a similar ailment.

It seems there is a difference of opinion on whether Heap practiced.

Ravens | Heap practices Thursday

Jamison Hensley, of the Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens TE Todd Heap (back) practiced Thursday, Sept. 14 and will likely start the Week 2 game.

You will learn not to trust rotoworld...they are getting more and more unreliable.Dressed and participating in a portion of Thursday's padded practice at the team's indoor field, but still listed as questionable, were running back Jamal Lewis (hip), tight end Todd Heap (back), safety Ed Reed (thigh), kicker Matt Stover (back), center Mike Flynn (ankle), running back PJ Daniels (thigh) and defensive tackle Aubrayo Franklin (thigh). Tight end Daniel Wilcox (back, questionable) was not on the field and linebacker Gary Stills left practice holding his left arm to his side. He reportedly suffered a finger injury, and was added to the injury report as questionable.

Heap still had the most receptions including the last pass play for the Ravens in game one. He played through this pain last week and I expect him to do so again.

That Wilcox is hurt and actualy more questionable than Heap is I also find to be reassuring. Heap could have had a monster game in week 1 if he would have gotten Wilcox's 3 catches.

At this point the situation looks to be leaning more towards Heap not sharing Te targets. This may help Clayton get a couple more looks as well.

The Ravens are playing the Raiders. If the Raiders don't get back on track quickly from last weeks chaos the Ravens may not need to pass the ball very much in this game.

any word from ravens homers on his condition?

i dont doubt he'll play, im just concerned that if its his back, that one brutal hit could sideline him for the day.

 Been saying that for a couple years now whenever folks post Rotoworld info here as fact - I say "Rotoworld believes - not fact"

85% of the time, they are accurate, but those 15% of the time they are not, they are WAY WAY off - and usually on something relatively important. Plus, they never seem to have "scoops" - thir advanced predictions almost always turn out to be wrong or grossly inaccurate.

KFFL, has scoops.

This board, actually, has the BEST scoops around.

no word on the "condition," but I did hear that all 10 players listed on the injury report are expected to play Sunday

I have a feeling that the Ravens aren't going to do a lot of passing against Oakland. Admittedly the Chargers were breaking in a new QB and they have LT, but the Raven's D should contain Moss & Co. easily.

I don't think the Ravens will need to pass very much to win this game. They may even let Heap rest his back in the second half to make sure he's at his best for a divisional road game next week.

joesix, then will you be starting watson over heap?i have the same problem, and dont really want a donut out of my TE when i have to play the gates owner.-biz-

Jets gave up just 86 yards to the Titans last week, but failed to stop Henry at the GL. NE was a rushing machine last week- Brady had just 23 pass attempts last week. Having established the run, I think they'll pass more this week, and Watson had 7 targets, as many as Caldwell and Brown combined. He is Brady's go-to guy.

I keep telling myself not to sweat it, they are both good starts and it is a good problem to have- I'll be pondering which TE to start all season long.

NE/NYJ is a divisional game that I think will be much more competitive than the Bal/Oak game. My first instinct was Heap against a reeling Raider team, but after thinking about it more I'm going to start Watson. Heap being nicked makes Watson the safer start- I hope I am not overthinking this.

whats the latest? i know hes probable, but theres a difference between probably starting and probably finishing the game, the latter which i am concerned about.

just wanna make sure that hes up for 60 minutes. nothing would be worse than seeing daniel wilcox scoring touchdowns in the late second half.

thanks,

Heap finished the game last week. So I don't see any indication for not to play 60 minutes this week unless the game is so out of reach for the Raiders that the Ravens begin to rest thier starters.

those both could be right as that defines "missing" as not participting in ALL of practice. Not sure why they put "team" in air quotes...
