Heartfelt thanks from the IDP Audible Crew (1 Viewer)

Download numbers thus far for our free weekly IDP podcasts:

Preseason Part 1 -- 176

Preseason Part 2 -- 286

Week 1 -- 1828

Week 2 -- 4775 :goodposting: :tfp: :excited:

Week 3 -- ????

Given the page view data that we had for last season's print (and subscriber only) IDP Roundtable, these numbers are astronomical and extremely encouraging. More importantly, it's proof positive that the world of IDP fantasy football (the ONLY way to play for real football fans ;) ) is on the verge of a massive explosion.

The entire FBG IDP crew appreciates the support. If you get a chance, keep pimping IDP by Digging our podcasts or providing a review on itunes if you're members of either. And please let us know if there's anything you think can be added to improve the show. Let's convert the masses.

If you've yet to check us out, it's easy to do. You can play the podcast directly through itunes or download it for play later by ipod or CD. And you can always access it from the podcast tab on the front page banner or from the subscriber page. Those links will bring the file up directly to your PC. Each of those methods is free to setup (itunes) and the FBG banner link is accessible by non-subscribers.

Thanks again!

This is YOUR podcast, IDP forum. You give us your valuable time and attention, so we want to make this show whatever you want it to be!

First of all, Jene, you and the IDP crew rule!!! The audible also rocks!!! You guys have THE best FF podcasts available.

I love the IDP forum but I selfishly hope it doesn't change. IMO, what makes this forum great is the fact that there are a few very knowledgeable posters who generously help us IDP newbies. Unfortunately, the explosion will also inevitably bring with it all of the problems that plague the forums on the other side of the ball. The Shark Pool is okay for keeping up with current events but it's so cluttered with everyone’s BS that it quickly becomes very difficult to sift out any good information. The Assistant Coach also has some value even though it's really just filled with a bunch of us who aren't sure what to do about our own dilemmas but we can confidently make these same critical decisions for other people. :(

Sorry to be a party pooper. I really do appreciate the IDP forums. When I log on, this is the first place I head for… guess I’ll just have to enjoy it while it lasts.

Some credit goes right back to the Blammeys, who did such a good job this offseason that people got in the habit of grabbing the latest Audible.

There's no question about it. Cecil is still helping us behind the scenes but he would still be a big part of these if he didn't have a billion other things going on around the same time. We're absolutely happy to be following the trail that Cecil, Sig and the rest of the Audible contributors blazed over the past 12 plus months.

The IDP podcasts are excellent. Once an IDP player listens one time, they are an instant every week listener. That's how good the shows are.

Great job guys.

Ugh. I hadn't thought about that, but it makes sense. Hopefully, the level of effort necessary to do IDP properly will continue to keep this a more exclusive/serious group! In the meantime, I'll add my voice to those praising the work here by both the FBG staff and the helpful and knowledgeable regulars!Heck, what am I worried about? My league has been doing IDP since 1990, and it's still hard to find a decent FF magazine that includes it. In fact, I would say that it's harder now than it was five or ten years ago.

Congratulations on the big numbers. It is deserved.

As for improvements, I'd love to hear more match-up information as the season progresses. You might want to key on specific players, but even more general information about which offenses are good ones to target would be great. The weekly projections and the IDP match-up tool is helpful, but you can bring a lot more color and shading in your broadcast. I bet if you did a Roundtable/Recap show and a separate Match-up/Preview show people would listen to both. I know I would.

It's a testament to the vets who've been here since the beginning of this forum that such a fine example of "disagree if you want but keep it to a friendly football discussion" has been the norm. Expect to be challenge and be challenged and asked to provide reasons for your opinions, but not trashed if you're proven wrong. As we get bigger, we'll try to moderately moderate if that makes sense. I'd prefer to let this forum police itself. Don't engage the tools and attention whores (if we get any) at all and keep the threads the way you want them. If someone crosses the line -- PM Aaron or I (or hit the report button to the entire moderating team) and we'll handle it. In the 18 months I've been on staff, I can count the number of posters I've had off-forum discussions with on two fingers. I bet Aaron would stay the same.No reason it can't stay that way as we grow.

My favorite thing about them is that you can be doing yardwork or loading the dishwasher and getting some FF research done at the same time!

IDP roundtable podcast

On the FBG home page, you can locate all of the podcasts. There are a ton of them. Also, in my signature, the last line are 5 IDP podcasts which go into defenses and IDPs in depth.
As Tony posted, each podcast is linked in a new thread as soon as Cecil gets it uploaded to the site early Thursday morning. From the original post, here are some other suggestions to find the podcasts.

I didn't mention it initially but podcast review services like Digg.com will also have our podcasts available -- search for the Audible if you regularly visit Digg.

Oustanding stuff as usual, guys. Thanks a TON. Especially appreciated the talk about Jared Allen coming back and his impact.

This forum has been an oustanding resource for those of us who are new to the IDP world (only my second season). You guys have helped make me much more competitive. Big thanks. :goodposting:
