Heath Miller (1 Viewer)

I was wondering if Heath had any targets during the SB, because I didn't see any. Thanks for your help.
I don't remember any, and I was pretty surprised by this while I was watching the game.

Thanks for your help... I figured it would be easier to post than to check the gamebook because I'm that lazy.

Same here CrossEyed. I mentioned to the people I was watching the game with that they needed to go to Miller to get things moving, but it never transpired. Not sure what was going on. Maybe part of Seattle's gameplan was to take Miller out of the game. If that was the plan, it was effective.

I wrote the Game Recap for the Super Bowl.

I noted the same thing.

He was playing but had zero targets. He was active in the game, but was not running many routes. It seemed they kept him in to block more often than not.

He was flagged twice for penalties in the first half.

I don't believe Heath was targetted. This was actually smart, because the previous games, he was huge, so the Seahawk defense was watching him.

Because they won. Had the Steelers lost, the Shark Pool would have been full of posters saying: "How could the Steelers not look to Miller, who came up huge in previous games? Stupid play-calling!"

My dad was watching the game with me, wearing his Heath Miller jersey. He was kinda bummed that they never looked his way.

I thought the time to go to Miller was when they were on 1st and goal on the 3 late in the first quarter. They brought the Bus in and everyone in the stadium knew the Steelers were going to give him a crack or two at the endzone.

Fridge

I'm still amazed that Roethlisberger, Miller, Porter and Polamalu had such bad games and the Steelers still won.
Haven't you heard? The NFL had already pre-determined the outcome.

But the Bears blew out the Patriots. At the time the Steelers were down by 3. I would have said score the TD with Miller now and worry about the Bus later.

Ya....but at least Ben made some plays, Miller didn't drop 4 passes, Porter wasn't pancaked on a 75 yard TD run and Troy didn't bite on a trick play to let a 43 yard TD go over his head. :towelwave: :towelwave: ;)

Wow, more class coming from the Steel City. I wasn't trying to rip on your team at all, if anything that first one was a compliment. Are you guys going to be this unbearable for long? You keep #####ing that we're whiny tools for bringing up the fact that the refs sucked, but you keep bringing this up at the same time?

Hypocritical whiny tools.
Did you miss the ;) ?????That's not whining, those are the facts. Holmgren is the king of all whiners....

Ben had a bad game, but still did enough at critical points to be effective.

Miller had 2 penalties, no targets, wouldn't say a bad game, just a non factor, might have been Seattle gameplan. Wouldn't say he played bad...

Porter, 3 tackles, another non factor game, wouldn't say he played bad...

Polamalu, very quiet game for Troy, don't know if it was the ankle or Seattle gameplan to stay away, probably both. Non factor, wouldn't say he played a bad game.

Steelers played a great team game on D, bend but don't break, othersstepped up when the stars didn't. Ben had a bad game, the rest of the O picked up their game(Willie, Ward, ARE), that's what this team has done all year.... :towelwave: :towelwave:

Classy  You're the SB champs. Congratulations. Enjoy it.
Talk to your coach about being classy.

The obvious conclusion here is that Heath Miller is a choker.
Yeah, he obviously can't win the big one.
You all must have realized that I was being tongue-in-cheek with that comment.Frankly, I don't understand why this topic is even being brought up.

You know that answer Dan, nothing better to talk about. ;) Any time one of your best players gets a gooseegg in the Super Bowl, people will ask why. Tend to look at stats and not realize that Miller was blocking a good part of the game, he was covered pretty well, and quite honestly, Ben didn't do so well.

Super Bowl champs, and despite the loss of the Bus, the future is bright for Pittsburgh. (Now if the fans just lobby to bring back Randle El, they'll be good to go)
