Help Me Make an IR Move (1 Viewer)

Mr. Know-It-All

My current pitching -

Oswalt

Lackey

Linececum

D. Cabrera

C. Lee

Wickman

C. Ray

In a 18 team 5x5, no moves except IR moves the rest of the year. C Ray went on the DL yesterday.

Currently I am in 3rd place in Wins and Ks and WHIP, third from the bottom in saves and 5th from the bottom in ERA.

If I take a solid starter I can probably win the W and K category ($25 to win a category), but would probably drop two points in saves by the end of the year. If I take a closer, I might move up a few positions in saves and stay about where i am at in Ws and Ks.

Here are the pitchers available -

Brett Myers

Phillip Hughes

Jonathan Broxton

Hideki Okajima (no holds category though)

Ben Sheets

Sheets is only available because you can't afford to have a hurt guy on your roster because you fall too far behind.

I am stuck between Hughes and Myers. Both should be activated this week.

Any suggestions?

I would pick up Hughes.....he's got one more AAA start and then he'll be in pin stripes. This kid is the real deal.

Agreed.

Thanks guys. That confirms my gut feeling. The ability to win two categories Ws and Ks (picking up 4 points) more than offsets the 2 points I would lose by dropping in saves. Not to mention he might help in ERA and WHIP to pickup some additional points there.

This will be my first ever attempt at punting saves, and not by design.
