Help with Startup Draft 1.3 (1 Viewer)

So I've got the third pick in a 12 team PPR dynasty start-up draft.

Assuming Zeke and DJ go 1-2, who would you guys pick at the third?  Do i go Bell because I'm worried there won't be good running backs available at 21?  Or do I go for a Beckham Jr. or Evans?

I wouldn't assume Zeke and DJ are 1 and 2, so have a contingency  plan of which you like better in case you are surprised.

Barring that, though, I take Beckham over Evans.  He's been more consistent thus far, and looks like he can still take another step, while Evans has shown us what he is going to show us.  (Strictly my subjective opinion there...)

Beckham has Marshall to contend with, but Evans has Jackson and Howard added to his offense, so that's a wash.  Winston's tendency to go away from Evans in the red zone, vs. Eli's tendency to lock onto Beckham is a bigger factor.

Not that you're really going to go wrong with either.

Thanks for the answer, really thorough and helps me out a lot, i appreciate it!

If you don't mind me asking, where's the best place to find statistics like redzone targets?  Think you bring up a great point with that.

For me it is...

1) Elliot

2) Beckham

3) DJ

4) Evans

5) Bell

I wouldn't worry about what RBs are available at 21.  There are plenty of decent RBs that will be out there then and maybe even at your next turn.  Don't worry about "filling out your roster" in dynasty like you would in redraft.  These are guys you'll have for the next 5+ years so a bust is 5x as costly.  Take the best players.

Agree 100% with all of this.

I wouldn't worry about forcing a RB at that spot.  RB importance is actually not as important as it seems.  There are a couple elite guys that are fairly consistent but they are also more injury prone and losing your first round pick early can torpedo your season before it starts.  Every year there are RB's that get a chance that come from nowhere (Howard, Ware, Gordon, Ajayi, etc) that put up big numbers or guys that flash for a few weeks (Montgomery, Powell, etc) that are really serviceable.

I would put together your rankings and don't force any position.  Pick you think is the better fantasy performer regardless of position.  Your team will be much better off in the long run.
