Help with tiebreaker (1 Viewer)

4 teams out of 6 already locked up a playoff spot while 3 teams may end up 7-6 with 2 of them making the playoffs. If the tiebreakers are head to head, division record, points for. whom would be seeds 5 6 and 7. fyi team B and C are in same division.

Team A 7-6 different division, 1-0 against team B, did not play team C, lowest points for between the three teams

Team B 7-6  3-3 division record, 0-1 against team A, 1-1 against team C, highest points for between the three teams

Team C 7-6  3-3 division record, did not play team A, 1-1 agasint team B, has more points than team A but less than team B.

Thanks for the help!

if these are your tie breakers, your league should change them for next year.  I will ask how many divisions are there, and how many teams involved?

as to your concern and the way the rules are written...  Team A is in.  their head to head record with the other two teams is 1-0, yes they did not play the other team, but that is that.  Against the teams in question, Team A has the best record.  Team C is 1-1 and Team B is 1-2 (with the loss to Team A)... So based on this, Team C is in with the 2nd best head to head record of the three teams in question.  Team B is on the outside based on the head to head tiebreaker.

All will change depending on how the games this weekend play out.

Suggestion would be for the division winners getting a spot (say a 3 divisions - 12 team league, they are spots 1, 2, 3 based on best record to worst record of the division winners).  To determine the division winners only for each division, if teams are tied, then division record comes into play as the division games matter, then the next tiebreaker could be head to head and usually with a 12 team setup, you play each team twice, and if I beat that team both times, I should get in... and then total points if these teams split their matchups.  My view is that if I beat the team, I should get the advantage if the division records are equal.

As to the wild card teams, then you could follow this setup...which would be different that determining the division winners.  Divisional records should not be a tiebreaker for wild card teams.  First would be overall record, then total points scored.  I have seen where head to head could be used as the 2nd tiebreaker, then total points.  I have played in both types of leagues... and my preference is head to head.  But... I have been comfortable with both methods.

There are 3 divisions. each division winner is awarded 1st 2nd and 3rd seed with 3 wildcard spots. next would be the 3 best records which could end up after this weekend with the 3 teams being 7-6.

12 team league. 6 make playoffs
