Went to the doc today.
Told him I'd been having bloody diarrhea. He looked at my backside and said I had advanced hemorrhoids and referred me to a GI specialist. Said I needed surgery ASAP because they were only gonna get worse. As far the diarrhea, he said there are literally dozens of reasons why it has persisted. Could be infection or something like colitis or diverticulitis.
I'm not too concerned about the diarrhea, if I do have some kind of inflammation of the colon, that's usually controlled with proper diet and meds. I do have a family history of CRC (mom currently has it), but I don't think that's the issue. The GI specialist will probably want to look inside just as a precaution.
From what I've read, hemorrhoid surgery is pretty simple. They basically tie a rubber band around them and they fall off, and I can go home the same day. My worry is the pain involved. I'll admit I'm a wimp, I have a very low pain tolerance.
Has anyone ever had it done? How long is the recovery? How much pain were u in? Did it hurt to sit or poop? did u bleed a lot?
