Jonathan Crompton?Really? ;)

There is no way Bradford goes #1. Too risky of a pick.
That's for the doctors to decide. QB scarcity + the glaring need of a QB for CLE/STL/OAK/BUF (WAS?) almost assures that Bradford will be a top 10 pick unless his shoulder is spaghetti. If the shoulder is cleared by the docs, his draft stock will basically return to where it would have been if he had finished the season healthy.

Clausen and Locker make it past the Redskins?????????Don't know if I could see that happening
or BUF or OAK (Locker seems like the kind of guy that Oakland (read: Count Chocula) goes nuts for).I do think McCoy may fall behind Clausen and Locker unless his interviews are off the charts. He's not very toolsy and he's been a little uneven this year. I can see 3-4 QBs in the top 8 and 6-7 QBs on the first day this year.

While I like Briscoe, I don't see him as the top WR. Where is Dez Bryant?
Good ? on Bryant. My understanding is that the NCAA blew everything out of proportion and he's not a character risk. I don't think it's a stretch to put him in the first.

personally, I don't see either R. Okung or G McCoy making it past the lie-downs...They REALLY need a CB, but I don't think Patrick Robinson will trump either of those two.

ETA... My guess for the Lions board is probably: Suh, McCoy, Okung, Berry

Good Stuff. I think Morgan, Wootten and Romeus could rise - rush ends are only really behind QB and LT in importance these days.Totally agree with Berry ahead of Mays.I see McCoy as a top 10 pick, probably top 5.

I'm trying to figure out what you think SD would do with a 4-3 RDE.

Do you think they're switching to a 4-3? Because Morgan's pretty big as a LB and pretty small as a 3-4 end.

Lots of rumors that Berry is going to elect to stay for his senior year. Supposedly there is to be a "big announcement" after the Tenn/Kentucky game today. We'll see.

Jonathan Crompton?Really? :goodposting:
Interesting that you're the only person so far who has raised eyebrows at that. Despite my early season bellyaching (and my admitted bias) he has come a VERY long way in a short period of time. He has great size and phenomenal mechanics. He can make all the throws and finally, after 4 years, is reading defenses and making LOS adjustments. Toss in the deep ties of the UT coaching staff to the NFL and I think its very realistic he'll be a late riser in to round 1. He'll be the guy that Kiper doesn't have in his top-400 til a day before the draft, at which point he'll talk like he "found" him first. Re: Bryant. I'm not thinking character issues will keep him out of round 1 but rather the layoff will. Other notes: Jordan SHipley will go in round 3 or 4 and in 4 year he'll be catching 100 balls a season, leading to countless stories from scouts saying, "how did we miss this guy?"RE: Washington/Oakland - I think Vick ends up at 1 of those spots, Tebow ends up at the other in a later round. If Berry stays for his senior year I will be VERY VERY HAPPY. But he's a lock to go top-5, which is tough to pass up.

I know he's small, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Golden Tate go in the first round. He's been as dynamite as any WR this year.

I still think Bryant is highly drafted, maybe WR1.

Dexter McCluster may be a man without a position, but I think he's a first rounder.

Does Gerald McCoy really fall that far?

I think Colt McCoy is the perfect candidate for "last in the green room." He plays in the spread offense on a supremely talented team against really bad defenses for most of his career. He's put up great numbers and is a great runner, but I don't see how that translates to the NFL. He's super accurate, is a tough guy, and is very athletic, but I could see a lot of teams hesitant to mortgage their future on him. People will watch tape of him against OU and say how can we draft this guy in the first round? I think the NCG (and the B12CG, as the Cornhusker's defense is awesome) will be VERY important games for him. If he implodes against an SEC defense, I could see his draft stock tanking ala Brady Quinn.

If Cody falls to the Jets, I'll be very happy.

Gresham will be a very interesting guy to follow. Combine will be important for him.

Brandon Graham doesn't project by many to be a first round pick, and I guess he's a bit undersized. But he's such a good college defender that I think he's going to catch someone's eye and could sneak into the first round.

I think the Berry/Mays battle up top will be very interesting.

I agree that Bradford probably doesn't go #1, although I'm not sure who to project there at that spot now.

Willl the Jets really pick that late? I like the pick for the Jets, but I think they will pick higher than that.

does anyone think Williams/Baluga is worth the 1.01? Just seems to me that Cleveland has a lot of needs but should give Quinn another year before investing that high a pick on another QB. Another obvious trade-down situation but those never pan out. I like Suh a lot but he doesn't seem a good fit there - unless maybe he becomes a 3-4 DE? or maybe the new coach changes to a 4-3?

Locker might be a decent fit for Denver's system, but I don't see McDaniels spending a 1st on a QB. I could be wrong though. If Terrence Cody is there when they pick, I'd like to see them take him.

I don't see Green Bay taking another injury-plagued D-Lineman in the wake of the Justin Harrell pick. Hardy now has had 2 straight seasons cut short by injury. Also, I don't think they have much choice but to draft an offensive lineman.

Btw, nice job on the mock. When people do these it prompts me to look into various player resumes and I appreciate other opinions.

With all the QBs that are high draft "busts" I find it hard to believe that a team would take a chance on a QB that has a throwing shoulder injury. (Chad Pennington as of late)Had it been an ACL that would not have been and issue, but a mistake costs 60 million and 4-5 years.

If Spiller makes it to the Vikings, I wouldn't be surprised to see them take him. Chester Taylor is a FA after the season.

The ViQueens in the SuperBowl? Are you serious?

This doesn't make sense-he has 5 AFC teams in the playoffs but only 3 NFC.

25. Cincinnati - Jermaine Gresham - TE - OU

26. Dallas - Patrick Sapp - LB - Clemson

If the Packers don't draft an OT in the 1st.... :goodposting:  :hot:
If there is not an O lineman that is worth their selection, then the Packers shouldn't reach.Lest we forget the last time they had a need at LT and took Jon Michels.

I know anything's possible in Oakland, but do you really think there's a chance they would draft a QB that high so soon after the JaMarcus debacle and considering all the money that's still invested in the bum?

I would guess with the way he finished the season he ends up somewhere between 15-30. Closer to 15 if he has big numbers at the combine (which I think he will) and closer to 30 if he just does average.

Texas A&M DL/LB Von Miller will likely go pro, and may sneak into the first round (I hope he comes back, but it doesn't look like he will). He leads the nation in sacks--though many from early in the year versus weak competition), but considering the importance of rush ends, he may be a high commodity.

I think Tampa has to go either D, or WR. I could however, see them going OT if they don't think Penn is a long term answer, and / if Trueblood injury is serious. Not to mention, the organization has done the opposite of what is logical for the last year.

I think Tampa goes either Suh, Berry, or Dez Bryant.

If Coach Kiffin can turn Crompton into a first rounder, he deserves Coach of the Year. He has improved greatly this year, but there is no way he will go in the first round. First day maybe, but I would guess 4th round or so. I hope he goes that early, cause I'm a huge vol fan. I just don't see it happening.

Despite how good Berry is, i wouldn't consider him or pretty much any safety in any year a lock to go top-5. Seeing as safety is not one of the most important positions in the league and considering its relatively easily to find adequate replacements at the safety position, top-5 worst teams in the league usually have more important needs than safety. You have Crompton way to high but i'm sure thats just shtick. I really doubt McCoy gets taken top 10, too many questions marks. I also don't understand the Jake Locker love that everyone seems to have. That guy is super raw, if he declares this year the NFL team that drafts him is going to have to wait a long time before he's ready to be a NFL starter imo, i doubt anyone would pay him top10 draft pick money to sit on the bench for a couple years.I'm one of the biggest Dezmon Briscoe fans on these boards, but i consider it impossible that he's taken ahead of Dez Bryant.

Troy Palamalu, Ed Reed, Asomgha(sp) to name a few, disagree with you. You are right though safeties are not usually picked that high, but the way defenses rely on them nowadays a high quality one is important.Berry is a team leader and crappy teams lack leaders. More of a reason for someone to take him high.
