Crazy day. We get there and that's when my daughter's friend lets us know that even though she likes roller coasters, she's afraid of steel ones and one's that "go fast." Apparently I did not do a very good vetting process for this girl. So I convince both of them to go on a wooden one right away and get it over with. No one in line, both of them start to freak out. After much convincing, they both get on and are near tears as we depart the station. They scream the entire ride. As we pull back into the station, they both say, "We should go on that again."
So we did them a bunch. But we could not convince them to ride any steel coasters. My daughter was up for trying it but when the other kid started freaking out, it freaked her out so they both chose not to ride them.
The park was packed. Wall to wall people. Yet, oddly enough, none of the coasters had lines for them. So my GF and I were able to ride every coaster (except for Fahrenheit) once. We'd buy them ice cream or something, put them at the exit, and go. No line at all. We just went up to the station and hopped on the coaster. It was nice, but what a huge waste. No lines and we couldn't even really enjoy it.
By the end of the day, we had ridden the wooden coasters about 20 times each. My body is black and blue from them. My daughter didn't want to stop riding them, so that was a big win.
I tried all day to get them on the SDL, but they wouldn't go. Finally, at the end of the night, I offered each one of them a t-shirt and $40 to ride it once. The other girl said no way. My daughter thought about it but once her friend started panicking again, she turned it down, too.
Needless to say, that kid won't be coming to our next amusement park trip next year. All in all, a pretty awesome day though.
