Is he right?

First time I heard that comparison, and I'm thinking it's bang on. Full of talent, empty on brains.

this actually sounds spot on to me. look, i was as high on cutler as anyone a couple years ago. not anymore. this guy needs to seriouly reassess how he's playing QB this offseason.

i think the best anlaogy i've heard on cutler is, his arm is so good that he thinks he make any throw. theres more to being an NFL QB than a strong arm. a lot more.

Maybe I do not remember Jeff George that well but my impression was that he was just pretty boy selfish. "I have all the talent in the world and you will bow to me". To me, Cutler is a whiny little diva who inspires no confidence at all in his teammates. They both have/had incredible talent, but I can see the comparison as far as wasted ability/lack of leadership.

I think you clearly do not remember Jeff George that well.

When he was on the Raiders in 1997 they were 0-2 and beat the Falcons in week 3. He felt the need to do a victory lap around the Georgia Dome after the game to stick it to his old team.

While the comparison is closer than I would like it to be, from what I remember Jeff George always had quality WRs to throw to. Cutler's #1 WR is a converted 5'8" DB with poor route running skills. That makes a good QB look bad and a mediocre QB look awful.

Really?Folks on here like this bright man have been comparing him to Jeff George since last March, before he even left the Broncos.

Funny now, to see some of the replies to that post actually...good stuff.

really? Here's seven pages of posts from the shark pool mentioning cutler & George together.
Get back to your Percy Harvin wishing tree....
you know I can't let a juicy cutler thread go...FTR, by an odd quirk of fate I'm a Bears fan tonight. it would be great for the Vikes to have to play catch-up. how's that for irony for ya?

I love irony.

Aside from both being underachieving strong-armed QBs who have too much confidence in his arms, I don't see that comparison being that valid. For as much of an arrogant ### as Cutler can be, he would never do that lap around the field, and Cutler had an awesome TD run earlier this season that George would never attempt. George was afraid of contact. I remember the Rams/Vikings playoff game where he fumbled the snap and instead of diving after it, he backed away from the pile and let everyone else dive for it like a #####.
