Hey Charger Fans (1 Viewer)

Eli's In.

You're Out.

:bye:
1 and done for the Giants, have fun with that.Sincerely,

Shawne Merriman
Merriman may lead the Chargers to the playoffs in a few years. Eli has already been there.TIA.
Two weeks from now:Eli's career playoff record: 0-1

Merriman's career playoff record: 0-0

Thanks for the Pro Bowl rookie,

AJ Smith

:goodposting: :lmao: Even though i think the chargers are better on paper, the giants are more consistant.......

My best friend is a chargers fan, so i was very happy to see them elminated from the playoffs.

Eli's In.

Chargers record since Eli was drafted: 21-10Giants record since Eli was drafted: 16-15

AFC West record since Eli was drafted: 68-56

NFC West record since Eli was drafted: 65-59

So in other words... San Diego has a BETTER record, in a BETTER division of a BETTER conference, PLUS all of the draft picks that they got from you guys, and you're GLOATING?

So in other words, San Diego has a QB with a rating of 89.8 (7th in the league), and New York has a QB with a rating of 75.1 (20th in the league, behind Trent Dilfer, Chris Simms, and DAVID CARR), and you're GLOATING?

So in other words, NY got a struggling young QB, and SD got a backup QB (who'll probably get traded for a 1st or 2nd rounder) AND the Defensive Rookie of the Year, and you're GLOATING?

I don't have a dog in this fight. Actually, as a Denver fan, I have no love for San Diego... but suggesting that San Diego got the worse end of that deal is just asinine. Has there ever been a fan base more blind to reality than the New York Giants'?

Merriman may lead the Chargers to the playoffs in a few years. Eli has already been there.

TIA.
Ummm... so has San Diego, remember?

Same thing he said about the Bucs too. In Tommy's world, every NFC team is going to lose in the playoffs this year. :lmao:

In reality, his team is watching the playoffs from home. :o :own3d:

Nope. Just the Bucs and Gints.
so both teams that are likely to host first-round games are going to lose?again, care to wager on that? or are you just going to run your mouth (again) without backing it up?

also, how are the Chargers going to do in the playoffs this year?

Eli's In.

Where were you last year? Where were you after the Chargers spanked the Giants this year?Eli will be a good qb, and the Giants are a decent team, but this thread is pathetic.

If they were in the NFC I figure they'd end up in the Super Bowl.Tampa will be leaving us in round 2 this year. I hope that gives you a warm fuzzy.

I'd really like to see Eli vs. Peyton in the Super Bowl.Think there'd be any features on them in the two weeks leading up to the game?

I didn't see where he said they would both lose in the FIRST round, just that they were going to lose in the playoffs. You have to see the likelihood of the Giants and Bucs losing in the playoffs this year...

He said in another thread the Bucs were going to lose in the first round. He said in THIS thread the Giants were going one and done.

Tampa won a Super Bowl on San Diego's field. That sure gave me a warm fuzzy.

:own3d:
Me too, I won $200 on that game. Too bad it was 5 years ago and the fact is the Chargers have the same chance of winning the Super Bowl as the Bucs do this year. :own3d:

:lmao: :lmao: only in your world buddy.
Well Cappy we can't all join you in fantasy land - we're happy here in this little place called reality where the Bucs have zero real chance to win the Super Bowl this season. But you and your invisible friend can play pretend football all you want, just make sure you finish up before nap time or no cookie and apple juice for you. :hey:

The Chargers will be fine. They just had a brutal schedule this year. Now if only AJ Smith had drafted Larry Fitzgerald in the first round in 2004 instead of Eli (and subsequently trading for Rivers). THAT would have been scary, from this Beloved Silver And Black fan's point of view.

I don't think the Bucs are going to win the SB either. But they are going to make the playoffs, and are pretty likely to host a playoff game. And that's a lot more than SD can say this year. So enjoy the playoffs, and I hope that loss at home to Miami didn't sting too much.

Evidently most Charger fans.... even the ones in the closet.

 The Eli pick so far has yielded: Rivers, Kaeding, Roman Oden, and Shawne Merriman.

You think the Chargers should have passed on all of that for Fitz?

oh, and good luck this weekend good buddy - you're gonna need it to catch me. ;)

Shhhhhhhh. It's that kind of valid logic that gets SD fans confused. If you keep it up, you might give them headaches.

Suggesting that an admitted and DEMONSTRATED Denver fan is a closet San Diego fan merely reinforces the idea that New York fans are blind to reality.Seriously, I provided solid, inarguable statistics. Otherwise known as "reality". You're welcome to try to do the same, or you're welcome to continue ignoring "reality". In the meantime, "reality" suggests that the Chargers aren't missing Eli one little bit.

Please see my post addressing this above. No Charger fan in their right mind would suggest drafting and trading Eli was the wrong move. Merriman may be worth Eli alone. Now suggesting the Chargers should have taken Sean Taylor, D'Angelo Hall, or Dunta Robinson with the Giants pick at #4 is a legit argument.

Giants fans can be happy with Eli.Charger fans are certainly happy with Rivers, Kaeding, Oben, and Shawne Merriman.
Fair enough. But this Charger Kool Aid that floats around this board is nuts, and gleefully consumed by many a lemming.

The AJ Smith is a genius bit is laughable. I Wonder how many Charger fans have stopped to ponder that 4 point week 1 loss to Dallas, and what a victory would have done for their playoff destiny. Boy, that 2 rec. for -4 yds stat line for Justin Peele, just to prove a point to Gates and his agent sure was worth it. :D :D :D

Nor will they miss anymore Sunday afternoon tee times.

You know there are times that I just thank god that Marshall Applewhite, the Heaven's Gate cultist, never bothered to try to find new members at a Chargers game.

Phillip Rivers = career backup QB. Maybe the Chargers should hold onto him for another year so his trade value will completely vanish.Kaeding is a kicker. A kicker. Who choked away a pretty important game vs the Jets last year in the playoffs.Roman Oben = career journeyman OG who can easily be replaced (See Jason Whittle.)Merriman will be an all-pro LB in a few years.Manning vs Merriman is basically what this trade will come down to.Advantage - Giants.

Im not A Charger Fan but your post says to me, this guy is an Idiot!
Just trying to defend Eli is all. All 70,000 tough guys in SD that were threatening and booing Eli back in September, can do it all over again...from their couches with Keading, Merriman, Rivers and Oben.

When you compare Eli to the guy he replaced (Kerry Collins), it makes him look like a stud QB. When you compare him to other starting NFL QBs, it makes him look average.Someday Eli will most likely be a better than average QB. Today, he is average. As a Chargers fan, I am happy to have a better and proven QB in Brees and will enjoy Merriman and whomever the Bolts get for Rivers in the off season more than having the whiny tool Eli.Enjoy the playoffs. We sure did last year while your team sat home wondering why they sucked so bad with a 6-10 record. :boxing:

Do you have a blue track suit, spiffy new Nikes and a handfull of sleeping pills to go with that mantra?

But Rookie QB's aren't supposed to lead their teams to the playoffs.All-World RB's with better and proven QB's in Brees, and the greatest TE to ever play the game, are supposed to be in the playoffs. ESPECIALLY, when they have the 2nd greatest LB evah and an old proven coach.
