Nate Burleson was having a great camp and played well in game #1 against San Diego-

He was a no show in the Bronco game. Is he hurt again ? What's the scoop ?

Resting the knee.

He's going to start opposite TJ, return some punts and be one of the biggest value picks at WR this year.

Shhhh.

I've got him as my WR4 in a generous return yardage league. :unsure:Of course my #1 is Braylon and my #2 is Cotchery.... :bag:

It sounds like Butler is taking advantage of this opportunity though.

Is there a chance he can step into that #2 role and pass Burleson and Branch?

During the last Hawks preseason game I could of sworn Curt Menefee said Burleson was "injured". I was looking for more on this as well. Based on the posts above, I guess Menefee was wrong, right?

In Seattle's new offense, Burleson is the X, Carlson the Y and Housh is the Z. Currently in that base offense, Butler is #2 behind Burleson and Branch is #2 behind Housh.

Is there a chance that Butler can beat out Burleson sometime this year though? I've heard good things about him and when I watch him he looks solid. I like Burleson, but I can see him losing his job sometime soon if Butler keeps coming on strong.

I wouldn't consider Butler a fantasy option until 2010 as I doubt Branch is a Seahawk next year.

As for Menefee, he was consistently getting things wrong all night. Players' names, down and distance. At one point he asked Nick Reed how it felt to be an undrafted FA and Reed needed to inform him that he was actually drafted.

Maybe he was getting into Warren Moon's stash!

I don't see him beating him out this year. I would think injury would be a more likely scenario for Butler replacing Burleson, since Burleson is coming up on one year removed from an ACL injury.
