High stakes fantasy football (1 Viewer)

Seeking opinions of both high stake fantasy football leagues. NFFC or WCOFF? Thanks.
I've only done the WCOFF. It kicks butt in my opinion. Nothing like the drafting the Saturday morning before opening day (Thursday game not withstanding) with about 1200 other people in a huge ballroom in Las Vegas. The other events surrounding the main draft such as a golf tourney, poker tourney, additional leagues such as auction, draft masters, and HOF leagues make for a fun fill packed weekend.I hear the NFFC is managed very well also but it's the week before the games start, it's smaller, and they're 14 team leagues. I'd like to try both some year, but I'd much rather be there with the WCOFF during opening weekend. Lenny, Emil, and their staff do a phenomenal job of putting the whole event together.

I've done both; I prefer the NFFC for its customer service, it's use of STATS software (very reliable) to run its leagues, plus the costs are better ($1250 for the contest and no "events fees" or required hotel stay)

Good luck

Thanks for the input. Anyone else play in either leagues? Or any other live draft leagues in Vegas out there?
I've been in both the last two seasons. They are very different and thatsthe first thing to consider for you, assuming cost isn't the focus. The WCOFF will have drafts in Vegas, AC and Orlando for 2007. I always head to vegas and love the action of the 1200 people mentioned in a previous thread. Its a room full of energy. But there are 840+ teams and the odds of pulling down the 200K are slim to say the least. The WCOFF is 12 teams and Pt. Per Rec. so the rules are fairly strait forward. The NFFC will have drafts in Vegas, NYC, Tampa and Chicago. So they are doing all they can to make the event accessable. The draft room is not as full and energy is not as tangible. But there are 300+ teams and the chance to win 100K is much greater. The NFFC is a 14 team league, and while that can look like a big change, I haven't felt like its had an impact. The NFFC is 13 weeks and the WCOFF 11 of regular season play. Thats a BIG difference between the two.I enjoy them both, but they are very different.

There's a number of them out there.

Googling "high stakes fantasy football" and WCOFF and AFFL pop right up. NFFC is already mentioned.

I've played in Rotobowl in Atlantic City, and PayDay is also there.

We did an article a few years back on it, not sure if all are still valid. Let me find the article.

Cost - Advantage NFFC - Roughly 1300 for NFFC vs 1800 for WCOFF

Prize - Advantage WCOFF - $200k top prize for WCOFF vs $100k for NFFC. League Prizes are higher in WCOFF as well.

Format - 12 teams WCOFF vs 14 teams NFFC - Advantage PUSH - It really comes down to preference. I think the 14 team is more challenging for me simply because its the only 14 team draft I'm in.

Scoring - WCOFF - 1ppr for everybody, 4 pts for QB tds

NFFC - 1ppr for wrs, tes, .5 for rbs, 6 pts for QB tds

Advantage > Push. Conventional (WCOFF) vs "viewed as more even" (NFFC)

Quirks - 11 game regular season for WCOFF vs 3RR for NFFC

WCOFF has a short regular season, a wk 12 LCG and a 4 week playoff, so you better make all your early weeks count otherwise you're outside looking in.

NFFC is implementing 3rd round reversal, which has the 3rd round drafting 14th slot first and 1st slot last. This is to offset the edge the top picks have had the last few years.

I play both and enjoy both. I'll be in Chicago for NFFC 07 and Vegas for WCOFF 07.
