Hines Ward - Biggest dork in the NFL (1 Viewer)

hes getting his 20 million and consistently produces for the :towelwave:he can do whatever the smack he wants to do.and hes probably happy he offends you.

If they woulda counted that TD Chad had (which was a TD), he was going to pat down the ref, that woulda been so sweet.
 I'm failing to see the sweetness.
Like how fans were patted down before the game? I thought that would be pretty funny.
 Not sweet at all. How am I supposed to smuggle a flask in nowadays without jamming it up my ###?

I neither like the Steelers or Hines Ward but I have no problem with Ward's celebration. I have much more of a problem with Chad Johnson celebrating a Non TD. What a tool.

If those guys are going to do idiot celebrations, then that totally opens the door for Ward to mock them. I support it.
 Does Chad Johnson realize how stupid he looks? If not, he can just look at Hines Ward and the final scoreboard. "Oh-oh, danced too soon again."

I know it's not sweet that we're being patted down, but CJs endzone celebrayion woulda been funny.

How about Hines and all his other "brothas", as they like to say, just hand the ball to the freakin ref and go celebrate with their teammates who threw the ball and blocked.Man, that would be nice to see.

I guess you don't watch much Steelers football. This is what Ward does every time he scores. The exception is when he plays teams that have a guy like TO/Horn/CJ that do choreographed end zone celebrations - when he scores against such teams, he will usually mock the end zone dances in attempt to give them a taste of their own medicine. Otherwise, Ward is all business when he scores. Sometimes he will spike the ball vociferously if it's a big score, but that's only because of his passion for the game; he doesn't start pulling out cell phones or breaking into contrived, scripted celebrations.

Aren't pre-planned celebrations against the rules in the NFL? When Chad Johnson tells everyone to watch what he does after he scores in an upcoming game (which he did a few weeks ago on the Jim Rome Show), isn't that against the rules? And that was definitely not a touchdown yesterday. His hand hit out of bounds before his body landed in bounds. Not a score.

I thought so, but the NFL does nothing about it. Personally, I have no problem with end zone celebrations as long as they're entertaining - guys like Owens and CJ need to be able to suck it up when Ward shoves it back in their faces though - if you dish it out, you have to be able to take it.

Hines Ward - Biggest Dork in the NFL ???????Hines Ward is one of the most respected football players in the NFL by opposing players, opposing coaches, opposing fans, and the media. He has earned this reputation by playing hard every single play and playing through pain.He made fun of himself for his mock of Chad Johnson's dance by saying "That wasn't that good was it", and Chad Johnson got a kick out of it, saying he would try to help Hines out with it a bit. They are having fun with it, so why does everyone else have an issue with it ???I'm sure Hines is really upset that his dances are getting criticized after he was a big part of a HUGE Steelers win. Keep reaching haters, keep reaching. :towelwave:

Actually when Ward did the T.O. thing last year, they should T.O. laughing on the bench, and Chad Johnson was laughing about this one as well. No one has an issue with it except Steeler haters who are reaching for anything to take the Steelers and their fans down from their high. :towelwave:

I really liked Ward's celebration after the 17-yard reception where he spiked the ball toward his defender, jumped around like a clown for several seconds motioning 1st down, and was then penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct. Lot of work for 2 yards. Nice parody.

Why do you have to make it racial? What does color have to do with anything?

:(

Did you see the play before? He was called for a phantom hold and was PO'ed. That is why he was so animated after the 1st down catch. That's right, it was still a 1st down. Later he scored the TD where he did the mock celebration that caused a bunch you get your panties in a bunch.

Oh, now I see. It's O.K. to do crap like that after a 1st down. My bad.

That's better than doing some gaye celebration TD dance when you really didn't score a TD at all.

Good point. I am confusing the players themselves with their apologists on this board, which I should not do.

He didn't even spike the ball towards any of the Bengals players....come on. He spiked the ball and it bounced off the ground at a sharp angle and hit someone in the shin. Give me a break... how many receivers in the NFL get up after a first down catch and make the first down motion and all that crap. Everyone does it - he was fired up and pissed off, and he paid the price for it. He got the last laugh by scoring the TD on that drive anyway.Folks, get a grip. Stop trying to make it sound like fans and announcers just picked Ward's name out of a hat and decided to hold him up as a crucible of toughness and fair play. The guy gets a little latitude because of the way he is on the field and off. It's not random.

I didn't say it was OK, just pointing out why he did it. The guy plays with emotion and in this case maybe a little too much. Sometimes that happens in football.

talk about another overblown situation here on the boards. I wonder if the Steelers got the CJ check mark yesterday...

It's not "overblown"...it's Steeler-haters trying to rain down on our parade. They were sooo hoping the Bungles were ready to win the division and are salty b/c it's abundantly clear that they are just not good enough. Period.

Doubt it. He's going to check "NO" no matter what - the Jaguars easily should have gotten a yes, but didn't.

Johnson claimed a technically in keeping his infamous cornerbacks checklist clean. "Ike's really not on the list," Johnson said.

That's an honor that had been reserved for Deshea Townsend, but yesterday's performance might have been enough to at least get Taylor on next season's scorecard.

"On a serious note, he's very good," Johnson said. "Let me stop playing; Ike Taylor is very good. I came into the game thinking it would be very easy, to tell you the truth. And he made me go into my bag of tricks, which is a good thing for the opponent. Therefore, he's in a class of his own.

"He's good, fast, quick. I did everything I could to make the plays that I did."

Ike is poised to make The Leap. I have expected big things out of this kid since they drafted him, but he was so raw, it's taken a few years for him to learn the NFL game.I anticipate that he could be a Pro Bowler as soon as next season. The only question is : who is going to be the long-term answer on the other side? McFadden? Colclough? Deshea?

What parade? The Steelers parade has been over since 1981, guy.
The discussion centers on a division rivalry. In this division, the Steelers parade is pretty much always in full swing.

im not a steelers fan :hot:

If you don't like the way Ward celebrates his TDs, then strap on the pads and helmet and try to keep him out of the endzone.  But beware on the running plays.  For us Steeler fans Ward is putting on an awesome show.  I love most of TOs endzone celebrations, but that waiter gimmick was so so gaye.
JAA did not say this and I don't think JAA will lose any sleep if Hines Ward continues to look like a dork.
Yes he did and I will not lose any sleep over JAA not appreciating Ward's dancing talent.
All I said is that Hiney Ward is not original .... well, and that I am a better dancer than him
Oh, but TO's Ray Lewis dance was ok?Ward's getting into the end zone and poking fun at those who get in there and are selfish enough to think there aren't 10 other guys out there that made the TD happen. You don't want imitation TD celebrations, then keep your idol from doing them in the first place and do what the best players do/did...hand the ball to the ref or spike it and get over to your team to celebrate.
No, TO's RayRay was ####### hilarious. RayRay doesnt do the dance when he gets in the endzone, he does it before every game and looks like a wounded duck trying to fly into a windowsill. To mocking something that stupid is very funny
