Want some inpt here because I'm reading different opinions on the Plax thread. I already grabbed Hixon off the WW. But is he the wrong guy? Which one of these three is going to perform in the coming weeks? If you are a Giants homer, please respond.

Big Gmen fan here, all the talk in NY is that Hixon will be the stretch the field guy that Burress used to be.

Though i see Smith getting the most recepts as he is a reliable third down guy

There is something special about Hixon. His stock just continues to rise the more he plays. Smith is also talented and Toomer still has gas in the tank, but Hixon seems to have more upside than both at this point.

Eli has liked Smith lately. I still like Hixon.

I'm not a scout, but Hixon looks like the real deal to me whenever he's gotten his chances. I think he's the play for the rest of the season and beyond...although Smith certainly has appeal as well.

In terms of the matchup this week, I really don't know. Redskins are a pretty good pass D, and I don't know who's likely to draw whom in coverage, etc.

Agree - Hixon is a good play for the rest of the season - albeit the Giants have tough matchups all year. It's great for dynasty (I hope)But the Redskins pass D coupled with the nasty weather could make this a very low scoring game with a lot of runs left, right and middle.

It's interesting to see that Smith isn't getting much love here, even though he:

- leads the team in receptions

- has had 3 games with 5 or more receptions (compared to 1 for Hixon and 3 for Toomer)

- is 2nd in receiving yards

- is 2nd in targets

It just seems like all 3 of these guys are going to get their touches, since all 3 fill a different role. And none of them are going to dominate.

I see Toomer and Smith getting slight upticks, and I see Hixon becoming a poor-man's 2008 Burress. And that's not saying much.

I've not paid particularly close attention to the Giant's receiving corp, but I think Sinorice Moss scored two TDs last time Plaxico missed a game.
