Hockey fans sue arena for being ripped off on beer (1 Viewer)

If a 16oz beer is $4, and a 20oz is $7, why pay the extra $3 for a 20oz, which gets you 4 more ounces, when you could pay $4 more for another 16oz?

These fans aren't the sharpest tools in the shed to begin with.

They said they will move up to the 24oz cup now.

They were advertised as small and large, and may not have had the ounces listed. They might have thought they were 16 and 22 oz cups?

Did you look at the sign? It doesn't say 16oz and 20oz it says regular and large.

The video shows the 2 cups...one looks taller and skinner but it doesnt look like it would hold much more. They've been going to the arena for years I'm sure they've bought plenty of both sizes, I don't think it would be hard to figure out both sizes were close.

There is a lot of psychological data on how priming peoples' expectations can lead them to believe things that aren't necessarily true.

As funny as it is that this relates to hockey fans and beer, the fact is that this is fraudulent and the lawsuit sounds valid.

Or the people who wanted a lot of beer always bought the large and the people who didn't want a lot of beer always bought the regular and it didn't occur to them to compare the two.

You'd think these fans would be more grateful that they've been getting this deal on the small beer all this time.

Don't some arenas have a rule you can only buy 2 beers at one time? You might pay more for a slightly larger beer rather than stand in line again.

I'm surprised more people don't bring a flask to sporting events. Not only are beers grossly over-priced, it is always Miller Lite or some other crap. Not worth any amount of money.

As someone that frequents this venue quite often, you are wrong.

There's always a nice selection of beers.

Stadiums/arenas all over have upped their beer game. At MSG and other NYC venues, you'll only pay a couple quarters more than you would for the light domestics.

Still too much at $7.00, should be around $6.00
I'd imagine it's a crowd control measure. If you want to get hammered in the stadium, it's going to cost :moneybag: , but no one is stopping you. My dad always reminds me of this incident from when he was in college in Ohio in the 70's if I complain about beers being expensive at sporting events: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Cent_Beer_Night
