Hockey fans sue local arena for $10,000 after YouTube video shows large and small beer cups hold the SAME AMOUNT yet cost almost twice as much.

I bet this is happening at tons of venues.

They were advertised as small and large, and may not have had the ounces listed. They might have thought they were 16 and 22 oz cups?

Did you look at the sign? It doesn't say 16oz and 20oz it says regular and large.

The video shows the 2 cups...one looks taller and skinner but it doesnt look like it would hold much more. They've been going to the arena for years I'm sure they've bought plenty of both sizes, I don't think it would be hard to figure out both sizes were close.

There is a lot of psychological data on how priming peoples' expectations can lead them to believe things that aren't necessarily true.

As funny as it is that this relates to hockey fans and beer, the fact is that this is fraudulent and the lawsuit sounds valid.

Or the people who wanted a lot of beer always bought the large and the people who didn't want a lot of beer always bought the regular and it didn't occur to them to compare the two.

Stadiums/arenas all over have upped their beer game. At MSG and other NYC venues, you'll only pay a couple quarters more than you would for the light domestics.

I'd imagine it's a crowd control measure. If you want to get hammered in the stadium, it's going to cost , but no one is stopping you.
