Some of these are simply jaw dropping. I know one of those must be Chet's. I know another is something Otis is looking to buy and remodel by tearing through some walls and stuff. But, enjoy.

Homes of the Rich

This one is particularly filthy: Texas

Great site thx for sharing. :blackdot:

ETA: I enjoy looking at this but also hooray for income inequality!

A lot of bad architecture and design up in here. Being rich /= good taste.

Give me a house built to normal human scale with really good quality finishes, millwork, built-ins, etc. I can't relate to the ego of a person who feels they should live in a museum. If I had that kind of #### you money, I'd have multiple vacation homes, probably a lot of cars and boats, etc. but my main home wouldn't be something ridiculous like these.

Some of these might not even be their main homes. Yikes

fwiw- this is the scale of stuff I work on... albeit, most of it is inside apartments in NYC. These people have all the things you're talking about, plus the big main home. It's funny- I completely agree about scale... but the laundry list of what my clients want to have at home starts to fill up a lot of square footage; the houses get big fast. strange thing about my NYC clients- in a place cramped for square footage (3brs are pretty rare here- I'm a family of 4 squeezed into a 2br), it seems like some kind of pact that once you're that rich you have to have at least 4 kids. Throw in staff quarters (at least 1-2brs plus baths and often a sitting room), and whammo- that's a lot of bedrooms and bathrooms.

and lol at otis worrying about utility bills when owning one of these.
