I bought some asian pears this weekend. The initial taste is fantastic but they had a terrible aftertaste. Wouldn't purchase again. Was it an Asian Pear? They aren't soft, though. But the taste is fantastic. I only see them at the supermarket a few times a year. They're great for cooking with, too.I'm not an apple fan, but I saw these in store the other day and bought one based on the recommendations in this thread. Wow was I surprised! Made other apples seem like the crap they truly are.
Also ran across a pear listed as "the sweetest and juiciest pear of them all." Unfortunately I forgot the name of it, but it was the best I've ever had. Even topped the honeycrisp, which is amazing.
braeburn apples. They are sweet with a touch of tart...YUMMY!!!
And these are usually the cheapest apples in the store to boot.
linking American Idol and 2 1/2 Men to Honeycrisp apples.Sure, this thread is a little over the top, but it is still my favorite apple
The texture was very crisp. Maybe the taste was a bit different or something, but it still just tasted like a good apple.
