No word on whether he'll play.

Houshmandzadeh out, Branch limited

Associated Press

RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh missed his second consecutive practice on Thursday because of back spasms.

Wide receiver Deion Branch was limited, but practiced for the first time since the former Super Bowl MVP injured his hamstring in practice Sept. 7.

Nine-time Pro Bowl left tackle Walter Jones also practiced some, but center Chris Spencer sat out again with a quadriceps injury. Coach Jim Mora isn't sure if Jones or Spencer will make their season debuts at San Francisco on Sunday.

Lofa Tatupu was out again with a hamstring injury, though Mora expects the three-time Pro Bowl linebacker to start against the 49ers.

Defensive tackle Brandon Mebane rested a left calf injury he sustained in Wednesday's practice.

Linebacker Leroy Hill is already out at least six weeks with a partially torn groin.
Could be bad news for Hass owners (like me) along with Housh owners. In fact I think Housh being out would be a hit to the whole offense (except maybe whoever gets to play in his place), in what was already not an easy match up.

Oh man, if Housh is out, this does not bode well for Burleson owners. I like that Housh gets covered leaving Burleson open to make the long catches.

I was going to post the opposite, lol. What makes you say that? I figured he would see more targets, not less?I might be starting TEdwards over Hasselbeck now, too.

I was already having some (irrational) concerns about starting Hass this week. If TJH is out, man, makes it even harder for me to like Hass

Housh's Week 2 status not considered in danger

Correcting a previous item, Seattle Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (back) missed the team's practice Thursday, Sept. 17. His status for Week 2 is uncertain, but it does not appear he is in danger of missing the team’s game.

How long do you think that is going to last.....about a week?

From CBS Sportsline:

Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh did not practice Wednesday or Thursday because of back spasms. However, the Seattle Post Intelligencer reported on Wednesday that Houshmandzadeh is expected to play Sunday against the 49ers.

Fantasy Analysis

This injury is not considered serious, so there is no need for Fantasy owners to worry. Housh had a pretty bad debut for the Seahawks in Week 1, but it's not time to write him off in Fantasy. The Seahawks' passing attack is expected to be respectable this season so keep Housh active for Week 2 at San Francisco.

Housh will play..will he be effective? I doubt it. Clements should be able to shut him down. Look for Burleson or Carlson to score this week.
