CBS.Sportsline have him getting zero points due to him have a bruised heel and not playing in the last preseason game. Is he gonna play? I haven't heard anything.

CBSSportsline is stuck in 2005. They have Philip Rivers getting 0 points and Deion Branch getting 8.

According to their injury report, here

Houshmandzadeh is expected to be just fine for the regular season opener. He remains useful as a No. 3 receiver in larger leagues now that Carson Palmer appears healthy
This was just a minor ding. It wasn't at all significant according to what I had read early this week.

:goodposting: TJ went up for a deep fade pattern over a corner and jammed his leg awkwardly on the way down. He walked off the field without a limp. Since nobody with a hangnail who has already made the opening day roster plays in the fourth pre-season game, TJ had the week off.

Homer alert >>> He's good to go and will likely abuse the KC secondary most of the afternoon.

Sneak peek from the week 1 passing matchup for Chicago vs. Green Bay (who has Woodson now):CB Charles Woodson arrives from Oakland - he got a big contract, but got torched bigtime vs. the Bengals in week 3 of pre-season, by WR's T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Tab Perry. It remains to be seen if Woodson can help staunch the TD bleeding in the red-zone.

Houshmandzadeh was a monster in that MNF game. The Bengals are scary-good with Palmer back under center and Rudi Johnson actually more explosive and powerful than 2005 now that he has 2 good knees.

On KC radio today (610 AM sports), they mentioned that it looks like Housh will not play? I haven't seen anything to support this!!?

I saw a report he hasn't practiced since the injury including today, but still listed as probable. Still, this concerns me a bit. If he doesn't practice in the next couple days, I will reluctantly bench him

Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (heel) has been downgraded to questionable. He didn't practice Wednesday and while he emerged from the locker room early in practice Thursday to work on the side, he didn't work in 11-on-11.

If Houshmandzadeh doesn't go, that would most likely promote Chris Henry to the starting role and Kelley Washington to No. 3. Antonio Chatman (groin) has already been ruled out.

Damn. Housh and Steve Smith both questionable, essentially GTD's.

Line up has to be set 1 hour before Miami v. Steelers.

Nothing like starting the 2006 fantsy football season off with a little gut check decision making. :football:

Whoa. That might be the biggest news of the day.

You have to think that late in the week, that is not good for Housh to go Sunday v. KC, though rotoworld says he's been known to play with pain.

It's not the questionable status that scares me, it's the fact that he was downgraded to questionable. That's much worse for a player's potential to play. (Alliteration roX0r)

BTW--Sportsline has Henry as the #4 in Cincy. Can someone actually confim from a better source that he is the #3?

If Housh is out, Henry becomes a huge value this week, ESPECIALLY against Cincy.

I think playing with yourself is a personal foul. :D
:lmao: This thread isn't about Steven Jackson. Move along.
If Henry is playing the Cinci defense, well that's just bad. :)
BAH.You know what I meant. :bag:

We need some homers to chime in on this. Is it normal for Cinci to downgrade a player if he doesn't practice Thursday or is the heel really that bad?

$%@%, I really liked this matchup for Housh.

From last year:Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (hand) didn’t practice again Friday, heightening the possibility he won't play Sunday for the second straight week in Tennessee and was downgraded to doubtful. Tight end Tony Stewart (back) also didn't work, but is questionable. He didn't play--but obviously, a different situation. Best I could find.

Interesting, I might give Chris Henry the start!

Anyone notice this kernel of wisdom? Dude had almost 1000 yards and 7 TDs to rank 14th last year. He's a borderline number 1 or a great #2 in larger leagues. I just had to laugh at that one.

How does this impact Carson?
Not sure how it will impact him, but being a Palmer owner going up against Hoodizzle I feel a warm fuzzy feeling as I think Palmer will throw the ball to whomever is running the routes.

That was four days ago when he was probable. Now that he was *downgraded* to questionable, that statement no longer applies.

BTW--where do you put Henry this week if he doesn't play? Just below where Housh was, or lower?

:bag: I started Housh over Heath Miller in a league where TE's get 1pt/5yds rec while WR's get 1pt/10yds.

Miller would have given me 26 points last night and now Housh is downgraded.

Again, Miller *should* have gotten 9 points.People become too results-oriented in FF. I look at it like poker. I put the best EV+ decisions into it I can, and the rest is up to fate.

Even if you take away the TD, it would have been 19 points.

Downgrading a player this late in the week is usually not a very good sign.

I know, I was just basically saying it was bad luck. Once Big Ben was out, I never considered Miller. It was really a choice of Corey Dillon or Housh (which I can still change if I want). But as far as TJ is concerned, is he going to play or what? Does anyone have any insight on this. Until yesterday, everything was fine and he was good to go against the Chefs.

Edit: Just saw my mistake. My point still stands. :)

The dreaded game-time decision!

Update: T.J. game time call By GEOFF HOBSONSeptember 8, 20061:25 p.m. It looks like wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (heel) is going to be a game-time decision Sunday after he was the only Bengal who didn’t practice Friday on the Paul Brown Stadium field. Defensive tackle Sam Adams (knee) returned to practice and head coach Marvin Lewis indicated that questionable David Pollack (hamstring) and Deltha O’Neal (knee) were ready. Lewis wouldn’t say how that would affect the receiver corps, but with Antonio Chatman (groin) already out, the assumption is Chris Henry starts on the outside and Kelley Washington handles the slot if Houshmandzadeh can’t go. With his countdown clock now working on one day plus, Lewis was a bit more relaxed after Friday’s workout than earlier in the week. He had some pretty good perspective on how jacked up the city is for defense of the AFC North title. “Last year they were afraid to jump in with both feet. Now they’ve jumped back in with both feet,” Lewis said. “You’re a little afraid to put that second foot down. Now they’ve got that second foot down. Now that they saw Nine roll out there, they’re ready to jump on.” Nine, of course, being Pro Bowl quarterback Carson Palmer, making the start Sunday eight months to the day of reconstructive knee surgery. “Before Nine was up, they didn’t know,” Lewis said. “But so was the whole league. That’s the way it should be.”
