Houshmandzadeh

Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (heel) has been upgraded to probable after practicing Friday. With head coach Marvin Lewis saying he's already made the decision, look for Houshmandzadeh to make his 2006 debut Sunday in Pittsburgh.

Lewis indicated left tackle Levi Jones is ready after resting his ankle last week against Cleveland, and Jones practiced in 11-on-11 Friday for the first time this week and still listed as probable. The probables who sat this week (linebacker Brian Simmons, defensive tackle Sam Adams, and left guard Eric Steinbach) all worked Friday.

In Pittsburgh, Pro Bowl strong safety Troy Polamalu (shoulder) practiced again Friday and was updated to probable. Wide receiver Santonio Holmes (foot) practiced for the first time this week, but is questionable.

Even as a TJ owner, I think you need to proceed cautiously. Housh was still in "we'll see" mode (his own words) as recently as yesterday (9/21). Couple this with the fact that he is always a 'marked' man in Pitt - for his Terrible Towel antics - and I am thinking twice before starting him.

Regardless of the aforementioned, it's good to see some positive news here!

Holy crap!! Thank you Fantasy GODS!!! :excited:
The NFL Network reports that Chris Henry will start at wide receiver in Week 3.T.J. Houshmandzadeh will steal snaps off the bench. We wouldn't discount using Henry since he's in the starting lineup as a WR3 or flex play in deep leagues.
Housh plays. Henry starts.
 Interesting...conflicting reports.
There is no conflict here. Lewis only confirmed that he plans on playing TJ; he never said TJ was starting. but, as an owner of TJ and Henry, I am very happy, even if this week is a bit of a crap shoot. :)

I've been saving a spot on my starting lineup for him for the past two weeks. If theres a sniff of a chance he'll play this week he's on my starting roster.

A 75% TJ is better than my other reserve WR options.

Others may have had better luck with injuries/bye week.

With TO off, I was going to start Driver and Reggie Williams. But if TJ is healthy, I may just have to scratch Reggie and insert TJ.

Starting means that you are the field for the 1st play.

will any of you guys be taking a chance starting TJHoush with this amount of information?
Starting him alongside CJ and Driver (start 3 WR league). Sitting Greg Jennings and Berrian.

I'm tempted to insert Housh into my lineup, but I've also got Coles as my potential WR3 (Holt@AZ and S. Moss @ HOU are in my lineup for sure). I'm just not sure if Coles is going to play at this point. If both play, I think I better go Coles until Housh gets a little of the rust off.

Good news to see Housh back on the field, but he won't be starting for the Cobra Kai this weekend. I'll def. want to see him back in action before I risk a start.

Unless you are so stacked you can risk the Goose Egg at WR, I'd advise the same. There's gotta be better options on your roster than an on-the-mend TJ vs. angry and thirsty-for-blood PIT team. If you don't believe me, just ask the dude who owned that horse.

Cool. Keep the updates coming. :bye:

For those owners who own both Henry and TJ...which one do you go with? One of the three will have a big day.

Good comment...not condescending or beligerent, but quite to the point. Difficult to not think aloud sometimes in the pool.

good point. i have both as well, i may stick with henry one more week to compliment wayne. even if tj plays, henry should still get plenty of looks.

Not worried about whether he starts this week or not. Just need him to #######' PLAY some for once! UGH! :wall:

any predictions on TJ's performance should he suit up and play?

im thinking possibly 4/55/0

Steelers pass defense has been shaky thus far (28th in league) nfl stats page in giving up passing yards. WHile no TD's have ben given up yet, I do expect some of the Cinci WR's to get paydirt.

At this point, if he suits up and plays, I see Housh getting 6 rec for 80 yards and 0.6 td's.

ETA link for stat reference.
