Houston defense - this years KC? (1 Viewer)

Yes, they have had 2 crappy opponents but this is a ferocious defense. And in 4 weeks they should get clowney back.

I'm thinking Houston defenE is this years version of KC.

Vastly improved. Flew a bit under the radar in drafts. Many times undrafted. Play makers everywhere. Coming through big so far.

I drafted them in 3/7 leagues. It's not like we shouldn't have seen the potential, given the pass rush they can generate.

And I'm hoping you are right. You could be. I wouldn't trade them for any other DEF right now.

NE? The ones that gave up 33 points to MIA last week?

They always play bad in Mia not surprised

It's ne actually
NE certainly looks the part too. But they were highly drafted in most leagues. Houston was more of an afterthought. Remember back to last year KC defense went largely undrafted. Picked up on waiver wires everywhere after their week 1 performance and owners never looked back.

There was a stretch of the season where my defense was my 2nd best player behind manning.

Houston feels that way this year. Can't wait to see clowney come back.

I would say no because KC got a lot of their scores with touchdowns. Houston is going to get theirs with sacks
0 sacks today

Yup.

Only allowed 14 points (annoying as many settings have 6-13 and then 14-20) with 4 turnovers.

And one of those was an INT with a significant return that easily could have ended with a DEF TD

I didn't watch today's game, but point taken. I still agree that is New England. I had Kansas City's defense last year and it just felt so fluky, I have Houston's defense in one league and it doesn't feel that way.

rrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiight...sooo, yeah...What was I saying again about Houston's defense being like, good and stuff? what the HECK was that debacle yesterday? I may have to rethink my stance on them.

Cincy's defense might be this year's Seattle or KC if they keep this up and also churn out a couple big games. That win over Atlanta was really impressive.

Couldn't stop the run in nickel or dime. They are bringing Swearinger, a safety up to play LB, but he's getting engulfed by blockers who make it to his level. Redskins exposed it as a weakness Week 1. Raiders weren't able to keep the defense honest enough with the run after going down early Week 2. Giants went right back to it this week.

I think we'll see a lot more teams attack Houston like that until they show they can stop it. If Louis Nix starts playing he could be a solution though would hurt the pass rush. Though he is still completely unproven so no sure thing that he's going to be a difference maker. Clowney coming back would help with the pass rush while keeping a big NT in there.

Yeah they got scorched on the ground yesterday, just like Washington scorched them week 1.

I'm looking to upgrade from them, but the options aren't great out there.

As to your question of who is the breakout D this year... perhaps Cleveland or Detroit?
