How are Drafts dealing with Pre-season Reduction (Only 3 Games) (1 Viewer)

If this is already discussed I apologize and please move to the thread
I just noticed the NFL has moved to 3 Pre-Season games instead of 4, most drafts usually wait till after the 3rd Pre-Season game due to injury concerns.
My question is are leagues now waiting till after the 2nd game?
Will coaches play starters in the 3rd game?

The 3rd Game ends on Aug 25th giving roughly 10 days before the NFL Opener, many of the league I run are slow draft and 10 days is cutting it close

Thank You for your time

What did you do in 2021, 2022, and 2023? I don't do any redraft leagues, so I don't know what the norm is.

I always try to schedule my home league (redraft) draft at the latest possible date.

We locked in on the 31st.

Didn’t seem a whole lot different than prior years. We’ve had years when we drafted with 1
Preseason game YTP, and one year we drafted the Friday after MNF (the infamous Kareem Hunt went ham Chiefs game) and if you drafted a guy who’d played you’d get their stats that week.

You can pretty well draft any time up until opening day, so not sure why there’s a 10-day constraint. They don’t really do the “full dress rehearsal” in the 3rd preseason game anymore. If they do it’ll likely be 1 quarter or a couple of series.

i understand it’s better to draft after all preseason games are over, but it’s not truly necessary.

some leagues use the "slow" draft method meaning that can check in once every few hour to make their pick or pre-draft; on avg mine is a large roster league so it can take 10 days.

But it seems no one is really scared of the 3rd game injury anymore, is that correct?

I think that was more relevant when there were four preseason games, and the third game was considered a “dress rehearsal“ where starters would play a full half or even 3/4 of the game.
