How did Sidney Rice look today? (1 Viewer)

Didn't get a chance to see the Minn vs GB game today. I know Rice had three catches for 56 yards, but how did he look? Did he have his usual burst or was he just lucky to be on the field?

Any thoughts on Rice going forward?

He is just getting started so I dont expect much.

He had a few breaks today fromt he defender, but the balls were not thrown well.

Next year I would hang my hat on him - not this year.

He needs to be cut theyve had him for 3 seasons and 2 of them he had season ending injuries. Last year was his first full season. He cant stay healthy. He's too injury

I thought he looked very good. The fact he played nearly the whole game, got 10 targets and reported no problems on Monday were all positive signs. His production would have been much better if Favre hadn't been so awful. But Favre played horribly. He missed Rice and Harvin a few times when they were wide open.

He looked decent, but I didn't see him run any deep routes. He caught every ball thrown his way that was catchable too. I like Rice for his scoring potential, but not sure how many opportunities he will have given the crappy offense so far, regardless of how well he is feeling.

So who's going with Rice this week?
Not much choice for me given the latest of many losses at the position. Washington is pretty weak against the pass and still has a couple injuries at db.Green Bays defense has made a lot of QB's look bad of late, and coupled with the possible emotional bump of the coaching change,I remain hopeful.

The matchup is the main temptation for me. I have no problem waiting and letting him blow up on my bench for one game but considering the rest of the Vikings schedule, this looks like the game it would be.

I am top dog in a league where WR is my weak spot.. imo...I got Vick, Kitna at QB Chris Johnson, Foster, Charles, BJGE, Stewart at RBTamme - Z. Miller (Oak) TEPackers D, ect...At WR I have been rolling with a mix of Boldin, M. Williams (TB), Santana Moss, at WR... and going with Charles as my flex.I have waited all damn year holding onto Vincent Jackson and Sidney Rice. I will be starting BOTH this week and I'm pumped. If I win this week I lock up the first round Bye for the playoffs.

Same. Debating between him and Boldin, primarily because of the matchup. My thought is that Frazier may look to get him involved early and hopefully jump out against Washington.

I have both Rice and VJax too. :goodposting: Although I'm middle of the pack. Hoping they carry me far.

Washington still without some starters in the secondary, including Landry for sure. I'm starting him with confidence over Panthers Steve Smith and Santana Moss.

I've got to decide between Rice and Harvin as my WR#3 this week. I've got Rice plugged in now but concerned about the number of snaps he'll play (Vikings staff rested him for part of this week's practice). Berrian being out helps both Rice and Harvin in terms of targets, but anyone have a sense for the amount of activity the coaching staff will allow Rice to have today?

Isn't the BIG question is how effective will Favre be? Not only is he playing like dog crap, now he has the flu.

Yup, agree with this although I have to believe Minny will be airing it out against a vulnerable WAS secondary with health issues. There should be alot of chances for both Rice and Harvin.
