I am having to listen to the Dbacks game. According to their site the game should be on fox sports but it's not. I really wanted to watch but listening is cool to. Adds to the world may be ending vibes. Not sure where they got the crowd noise but it sounds like a regular game to me.

Why aren't the Reds doing the fan cutouts?  Make it happen.

Also, the piped in noise I heard on the radio during the exhibition games this week was good, but needs more organ music, walkup music, etc.
I’m sure you probably heard it, but they said something in the postgame that they would be doing the cutouts and proceeds would go to the Reds Community Fund.

Reds looked good today, but other than Cabrera I don’t know that I had ever heard of any other Tiger..

Guess you didn’t get the free taco from Cameron Maybin.

Of the three games I watched today I would say that SD Padres are doing the best job with fake park noise.

It wasn’t terrible. Everybody knows what is going on so I’m ok with experimenting some. It was kind of funny to watch. It’s not really a big deal.

If I made bets back in February for different teams to win the 2020 MLB championship, do you think they will still be honored with this short season?

What about the MLB HR leader bets?

This has potential though.  Think of all the things you could put in the stands.  Porn stars, sloths, wookies, 50k Joe Bucks.
I liked SD shtick. All cut outs but lots of dogs and babies? Not sure if this was a Petsmart thing or not but it was fun. SD also had the best crowd noise from what I could tell.

As a Dbacks fan I am kind of bummed. I really though we would be better.

@JonHeyman: Marlins starter Jose Urena was scratched for start vs. Phillies today as he tested positive. He feels fine, so that’s good.

As I said before, I haven’t watched much baseball since I was a kid. Cal Ripken was my favorite player then and since the nationals just won I don’t wanna be a bandwagon fan so I guess I’m stuck with the Orioles.

Given their performance yesterday, maybe it’s a blessing I can’t watch their games on TV dispute being 30 minutes from the ballpark.

Why is it a problem?  It doesn't take anything away from the game itself.  They are just experimenting with ideas and trying different technologies.  It had no impact to the game.  I am not aure why it matters.
Because it just looks dumb. They add it on home runs balls or foul balls on stuff like that, but then they leave the first 10 rows empty. They then go back to the pitcher camera and empty seats as normal. And then, the cheers are so randomly bad and not synced to the game at all.

Either do it full time and in the whole stadium or not at all. Didn’t disrupt my enjoyment of the game, but it was just horrible execution.

Just guessing, but they would probably have been canceled. Some books released updated lines/odds when the 60 game schedule was released.

Pretty stoked to have baseball back honestly.  It my third favorite spot behind football and basketball by a distance but it’s still really nice to have something to watch.  It also helps that my Padres might actually have a shot to make some noise in long long time.

I agree with this

tv networks love adding really stupid things to broadcasts. Green zone. that red laser thing that followed the hockey puck in the 90s. pop music intros.

@thehazelmae: #BlueJays closer Ken Giles diagnosed with “right elbow soreness.” Giles left the game vs #RaysUp in the 9th

Oh noooooooo -

Astros ace Justin Verlander is expected to miss the remainder of the season with an elbow injury, reports Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle. Further details about Verlander’s injury are not yet known.

Seeing multiple responses asking if he hurt it banging on a trash can

Is he really out for the year?

@joereedy: Bad day for pitchers coming back from injuries today. Ohtani with a Blutarski and Kluber goes only one inning.

You wanna fly that plane?
I saw some quote that said they were waiting until tomorrow because they wanted to "fly back as a group "

THAT'S NOT HOW QUARANTINE WORKS

ETA - Maybe I took quote out of context  and Mattingly really means they're waiting on mire tests?

Mattingly, who did not name any of the players who tested positive for COVID-19, did acknowledge that those who tested positive are quarantining in Philadelphia, and said the decision to postpone the flight was made with family members in mind.

“We were more comfortable flying as a group later,” Mattingly said, per ESPN. “We’re talking about these guys traveling back home to their families and their kids, and it’s the reason we want to be safe.”
