How Do You Spend the FF Offseason? (1 Viewer)

How more time will have on your hands with the ff season over? Will you play other fantasy sports or will you completely disengage?

Wash, rinse, repeat

Same for me. So much work goes into my offseason for my four dynasties that the regular season actually feels like a relief. I will disengage for a few weeks though, just watch football without much consideration for fantasy implications.

The season never ends for dynasty.
This.

Tonight I do an extensive end of the season player evaluation of everyone on my roster. I'll also comb the waiver wire for guys who could see their situation/value radically improve before my rookie draft, then set my waiver priorities for my offseason stashes.

After that, it's time to touch base with the other owners to see if there are any buy low opportunities based on disappointment from this season (and to gather info on needs/wants for future trades and potential rookie draft targets).

Beyond that, it's all about preparing for the rookie draft. I already have preliminary 2014 rankings done based on compiled info from trusted sources and from personal viewings throughout the season. My next major goal is to fine-tune my pre-combine tiering (and ranking within tiers) by watching more extensive individual breakdowns of players.

Don't know what to do with myself... I keep searching this board, but my mind needs to come to the reality that my fantasy season is over. Took home some decent $$$ and more importantly bragging rights over friends, but now it is time to disengage. I'm sure the site traffic to FBG probably drops to almost nothing after week 16.

Not much until mid-July. Strictly redraft here.

I'll pop in TSP around the Combine and spend a week around the draft. It's strictly PT and low stakes these days. I don't miss dynasty/FT status, though I did like before kids & career took over my free time.

Quality posts around here multiply ten-fold after the fantasy season ends. The offseason is awesome here.

Count the days until the sun returns in April then I spend way too much money on golf. I dont think about football much when the super bowl is over. Need to decompress until August.

In a bunker watching college tape. I'll come out to breathe around free agency, but that's about it until may.

Actually, things stay pretty busy all year long, the demographics just change. Lots of dynasty discussions. If you're in any dynasty leagues, stick around and hang out. If you're not, stick around anyway, read up, and then join some and dominate. :)

As the song says, for all things there is a season. I play in dynasties only but still there is a time to unplug. If you're a good owner, your team will be fine without you reporting to work on it all year round.

This is true, if you're in a league with owners who feel the same way. If you're in a league with owners who will be working trades the minute they open again in a day or whenever, then you're at a serious disadvantage not also making value inquiries. Can you imagine taking even a week off and a couple days into that you get an email showing a trade went down for a guy you liked who was undervalued by the former owner? That's a ####ty feeling. A missed opportunity because you took a break and didn't keep your finger on the pulse of the league. Every single owner in my leagues has been itching to trade again from the moment they were eliminated from championship contention. The teams that didn't make the playoffs have felt that way since the trade deadline. In my leagues you're at a disadvantage taking time off.

NBA all day errday.

I watch the NBA how a true sports fan should and just enjoy the spectacle of it all with no fantasy affiliations. Fantasy hoops just isn't as fun as football. The scoring is wack.

In all honesty I'd watch FAR more basketball than football if fantasy didn't exist. I know some will be disappointed in me...fair enough.

I can see that side of it and I have definitely been on that side of the email and thought "wish I'd known that guy could have been had for that cheap". I guess I'm just in a good spot in my leagues right now. The owners all kind of know one another well enough to know to shop around and reach out to people before doing trades of big scale.

But my real point in the post is that "all things in moderation" is my mantra and I think it's a healthy one. Take a step out of the forest every once in a while so you can see the trees. Easier to focus sometimes

There is no offseason. I'll spend all my time leading up to the draft looking at college players. I'll then spend all the remaining time evaluating the rookies and NFL offseason moves.

Offseason is the best time of year for this hobby IMO. Regular season is just a pay day to keep my wife off my back.

True to a point. I decompress until after the Superbowl, play in a couple playoff leagues. When the Superbowl is over I start to gear up to get ready for the draft.

I have zero interest in the NBA. Basically a few teams have all the good players and the rest suck. No thanks. Calls are so biased too.

basketball is cool, but the nba pretty much sucks.

Become mock draft guy and get way to antsy, however it's in May this year so will be way worse.

March Madness is in Buffalo this year and have tickets so will watch more college hoops because our NHL team sucks.

Then count down until the Hall of Fame game
