How good can Schaub and Hasselbeck be? (1 Viewer)

Just how good could Matt Schaub and Matt Hasselbeck be this year if they can find a way to stay healthy and do you think both of their starting TE's (Daniels and Carlson) will productive evenif they get hurt? Being a Chicago guy, I'm worried that Daniels' numbers will drop off if Sexy Rexy gets into the game.

Schaub needs to stay healthy, be more efficient in the red zone and not turn the ball over. If he does that, he has the weapons to be very successful. Ultimately, I see him getting injured again.

I think Schaub is tiers above Hass at this point. I view Schaub as a top 10 QB (not sure where he's ranked) and Hass closer to #20 and I also view Daniels a good bit above Carlson. I like Carlson and had him last year but I think his numbers were due in large part to the fact that their wr was so bad they were signing guys off the street and starting them on sunday. So he was the only option in the offense and that won't be the case this year while Daniels is a known integral part of the Houston offense. As far as the injury concern, it's an issue but with getting those two QB's you're getting them late so I'd invest in a better backup. If Rex comes in it will certainly hurt Daniels numbers but that isn't much different than Gonzo if Ryan goes down, Gates if Rivers goes down, Witten if Romo goes down, etc. It's a risk but I wouldn't worry a bunch about it....

I have no clue about Hasselbeck, but Schuab barring injury should finish close if not in the top 5 tier.

Schuab obviously has the one question mark of injury, but his situation and ability to score well in fantasy should not be in question. His ppg was 6th last year in my dynast format ahead of Romo, P. Manning, and McNabb. He is returning to the same system that allowed him to score well last year and there has been no significant down grades at all to his situation going forward.

Schaub throwing to Andre Johnson, Slaton, Daniels, a pretty good WR2 in Walters = madd TDs. I don't buy that their defense has improved. They will be throwing and scoring often by necessity. But I don't think Schaub will slide in many drafts this year. The Texans are getting too much hype.

Hass is difficult to read. Will anything flourish in the sudden fantasy wasteland that Seattle became in 2008? I'm not head over heels about any of these guys. Housh, Carlson, the supposedly-but-not-really good receiving RB in Julius... this team is going to have to creep downfield with sustained drives. Maybe some PPR value in the receivers but Hass is going to have plenty of 200 yds/1 TD games. A weak QB2.

Well it seems like so far most seem to leen twards Schuab. To me they are faily equal. It will be interesting to see if the zone blocking for Seattle gets them a running game. If so and Hass can get some time then I see good things for him. Schuab has a good young runner, who should get better. AJ and TO to throw to.....yup purdy darn close. Ill shoot for Hass since I should get him at a later rd.

Exactly, with healthy receivers and the addition of TJ going into the season, Carlson is going to have a completely different year. Those projecting JC to continue his 2008 late season performance are going to be sorry. Daniels over JC by a mile. BTW, whether or not the QB could get hurt does not factor into my TE selection process.

I have a lot more faith in Houston's supporting cast than I do in Seattle's. Just have a backup plan in mind for Schaub in case he gets hurt.

I drafted both Shaub and Hasselbeck last season for my money league QBs.

I lost 3 and 1/2 of my last for to just miss the playoffs by half a game.

:goodposting:

I'm prolly targeting Shaub this year, but not Hasselbeck.

Worried about age/injury proneness.
