How long do reality sports online auctions typically last? (1 Viewer)

Hi

I hope this isn't a Honda.

Mods, if this belongs elsewhere I apologize.

We have a league of first timers (to reality sports online AND auctions AND contract leagues).

Is there a rule of thumb for a time-per-pick assumption?

Example: how much time should we budget for a 10 team, 38 round auction?

Any suggestions for time limits per nomination/bid? Is 20 sec/10sec reasonable?

Remember, we are all auction and contract league rookies in this league.

Thanks more-experienced-FBGs,

10 seconds to nominate - 10 seconds to bid regardless of bidding (if no one bids, there's still 10 seconds for the opportunity), then 3 second clock that restarts with each bid (so you can't snipe a player).

The first 150 players will take awhile, when you get to the second half of the draft it shouldn't take nearly as long. 4-5 hours.

To add to that, we do a 280 player auction that lasted 3.5 hours last year. The first 140 players took 2.5 hours then after a 5 min break the last 140 players clocked in at under an hour. Once people have spent a majority of their budget, you get into the $2-$3 bids and players come flying off the board.

6 hours, min. That's less than a minute per player (assuming all 10 teams get 38 players...IDP?)

And you'll love every minute of it.
