How long until Mike Mularky is out as OC in Miami? (1 Viewer)

He didn't do much for the offense in Buffalo, especially the running game, and seems to be doing the same things in Miami. Passing the ball a whole lot and not getting his running backs enough carries. Is there heat on this guy yet? How long will Saban let things continue?

MM is the offensive anti-christ.

as a Bills fan i know first hand how bad Mularkey is. He has no idea. He showed his true colors in that game where he ran the 2pt conversion to tie the game. A reverse HB pass. ahahahaha! The players in the huddle must have been like, is this guy crazy? So much for Saban being a genious. What a fool he has made pf the so-called experts that thought the fins were for real. they are a joke. the bills are almost as bad. and alot of the bills issues go back to mularkey (and his boss- donahoe).

If I remember correctly, he was the OC in Pittsburgh before becoming the HC in Buffalo. I know they ran a lot of gadget style plays with Hines Ward and Randle El there, but I don't remember Pittsburgh abandoning the run like they have in Buffalo and Miami with him calling the plays. I realize both the Bills and Dolphins have o line issues, but why so little effort to run with solid backs? Wasn't McGahee very frustrated last season with the red zone offense especially? It's like Mularky is the anti Norv Turner.

Worst Offensive Lines in the NFL.

1. Arizona

2. Oakland

3. Miami

4. Buffalo

An OC is only as good as his line.

I think the difference between Mularky in Pitt and Buff/Miami is that in Pitt, the HC, Cowher said, we're going to run the ball, a lot. He opens it up some to the OC, but not completely. The HC doesn't just show up on Sunday, watch the offensive game plan play out and then Sunday nights ask, "what the heck was that?" They're there. Hopefully they're engaged. In Pitt, I thought Mularky was very creative in creating space for his receivers when they caught the ball. I don't see it any more. Maybe he was still learning from Cowher? Maybe he wasn't ready to go on his own? I know the line is bad, but a lot of that can be overcome with better coaching and play design. I haven't seen that. I saw the Jet game, and they were no better than week 1. They've regressed if anything. That's bad. Some of that has to fall on Saban.

How long do you give Mularky? All season. It's not like they have anything to gain by making a change now.

In regards to the o-line in Miami, they have Hudson Houck there to coach the line. Isn't he supposed to be one of the best? They didn't lose any stellar linemen in the offseason, did they? They have a solid RB and WRs who were there last season. Obviously their QBs are terrible, but that wouldn't lead me to go pass happy. What am I missing here?

Your QB threw for 400 yards. Brown is a top (5?)FF back not sure how his YTD NFL stats rackup. Ya ask me, he's doing OK. Green Bay put 34 up on their D and that's the prob.

Mularkey is no HC.

He reminds me of Gilbride. Since Gilbride joined the G-men their O has flourished. Despite that, due to his HC experience people here hate Gilbride. IIRC Gilbride is WR coach/offensive qaulity control or somesuch odd title.

Similarly Mularkey has his place+usefulness if the team keeps a tight leash on him

Not really meaning to gripe about stats in a loss that required your QB to put it up 60+ times. Most teams want to get their best back more than 15 carries to control the clock, keep the defense off the field and win games. Saban seemed to favor this method last year with a similar team talent wise. In comes Mularky and now you've got shotgun on 1st and 10 to start a game.

I don't know about Mularky, but people hate Gilbride because he has an overly complicated offensive system that takes a near-genius to figure out. Fortunately he's got Eli and a very experienced team around him to make it work in New York.

Not soon enough. I can't understand why they signed this looser to begin with. the Steeler O struggled under him and we can all agree his HC stint in Buffalo was not exactly successful.

Fins fans are pissed and already calling for Saben's head. What can I say - Latino tempers fire up fast and we look like total crap.
