0 in 20 years. I draft really well, don't trade much because I usually like the guys I've drafted so much, so need to get better at that part of it. My teams are like the ones in my sig. That one finished 5-8, while finishing 2nd highest in scoring.

1/3 after one year. I'll probably play in at least 5 leagues this year which should give a better indication of my ability. My one league I won last year was a $30 league where I got Gore/SJax 1 and 2. I'm pretty confident I know what's up, just need to pay attention to the playoff draw - avoid Baltimore.

I've been playing FF since 1988 and been through the whole gammit in terms of types of leagues. I haven't really ever kept track of the number of money leagues I've won but certain I'm ahead of the game in monetary gains. The money's nice, especially when I share it with my wife and she then seems to tolerate all the time I spend online with football. Seems like every year the length of time she spends as a football widow gets longer.

We got married in March of 1994 and I used the money I had won that year on fantasy football to pay for everything during a one week honeymoon. Ahhh yes,the money's good but more important for me is the game. It's all about winning. I'm so fanatical about FF that I play in numerous free leagues every year in addition to my money leagues. It is truly a wonderful hobby,IMO, and I'll be active in fantasy football as long as I'm breathing.

Much like Ghost of Bill Walsh, I've also been playing since the late 80's (can't recall exactly what year).

In addition, I also can't recall exactly how many money leagues I've won either honestly, but it has been several.

I also agree that I get as much satisfaction out of "winning" as I do the money. It's all about the competition to me.

I've been playing for about 15 years, with the last 10 in 2 money leagues each year.

I never counted but out of 25 possible wins I would have to say 10 plus.

I started out slowly, but most years I win one league and one year I won both.

both of these leagues started at work but now include a few outsiders.

it's hard to get anyone to trade with me anymore because they think I know something they don't.

one keeper and one redraft.

in the keeper, drafting LT in his rookie year helped and trading him for ADP last year will hopefully keep the ball rolling.

in the redraft we usually do a slow draft online, but this year it will be a live draft because several want to see who has been taking their money over the years.

hopefully the intimidation factor doesn't go down after they meet me.

LOL

i call :bs: on those who say they won 10+
I'd imagine it's pretty attainable for people that play in alot of leagues for many years.Personally, I only play in one money league. I've won it 3 times since 2004.
i have been playing FF for 11 years, played in 30 to 40 $ leagues. won it all 3 times. just cannot believe it unless someone has played in like 100+ leagues over the years. just to much luck

Started playing in 1995, and I have played in 24 money leagues to date since then - 20 redraft and 4 dynasty seasons. I have won 7 championships, all redraft, and I believe I only missed the playoffs 2 times.

I think it'd be a lot more meaningful to say what's your % since if you play in a billion leagues vs people who just play 1 or 2 it makes a huge diff. and to be honest I'm wondering why anyone would care anyway (which brings me to why the hell did I even click on this thread my god I'm bored)

Have played 51 "league-years" since 1994 and am 8-8 in championship games for a 0.157 average.

It's a bigger achievement to make the playoffs consistently and never win the title, than it is to win it all a few times and don't make the playoffs most years. More skill is involved in getting to the playoffs and more luck is involved in winning it all.

Of the 7, 4 were a cheap league, buy in $150+, 2 were a $1000 buy in and the grand daddy was the first, 2004, Fantasy Football Tournament of Champions for a cool $10,000. I must add I have been playing since 1996.

Why?I've won 10 (or 9 depending on how you count it) in just the last 3 years with guys from this board, including 5 last year, so why would you think it'd be BS for guys to have 10+ for a lifetime (I've been playing FF since 1981)? You were in a couple MOX leagues with me, so you know it's made up primarily of FBGs, as are the others listed below.Titles in last 3 years:MOX I (2008, 2007, 2006)MOX III (2008, 2007)Red Zone FFL (2008)AAFL (2008)HyperActive 3 (2008 -- 12 team conference champ, does that count?)HyperActive 1 (2007 -- 24 team superleague champ)MOX VII (2006)I don't know how many championships in total since I began, counting local leagues. Probably about 1 title per 3 or 4 league years.

Its really not that far fetched. I have played in the same 2 $100/team leagues for the last 12 years. I have won each 3 times giving 6 money league wins. As you can see, there are guys that play in numerous $20-$50 leagues each year. You play in 6-8 leagues a year over a 10 year period you can get to 10 plus wins pretty quick. Guys have the tendency to draft similar players in multiple leagues, they may say they don't, but if you are high on ceretain guys you gravitate to them in multiple drafts. A couple of good drafts and you can win two or three leagues in one year. Some freak examples that won some people some money.Colston as a TE one year.Julius Jones off the WW his rookie year coming off injury was huge about 4 years ago.(inside info here at FFguys got me the win with him)Kurt Warner out of nowhere during their SB run.Tom Brady in multiple leagues his record setting season.Baltimores Defense one year damn near beat teams single handedly. these are just a few examples I can think of that were players that put up monster numbers during a season that would have made a big difference for a guy who had them in multiple leagues to go along with their top picks.I must admit, the internet has made winning alot harder the last several years. I miss the days of guys showing up at the draft with a 12 pack and a magazine they bought on their way to the draft with their 12 pack. Nobody is drafting guys who announced their retierment a week before the draft anymore. (Kevin Butler (K) for the bears one year in the 5th round) the good old days of FF.

Ive been in one league for 19 years. Made the playoffs 13 times (the first 11 years straight) and have had a losing record only twice, but sadly I've only won the title once.

My other league 7 years and zero titles.

Hey, I would like to believe it, but no... I won one championship (among 7 straight playoff appearances in my main league) and it was glorious. My "other" 1-2 leagues per year, lower priorities, have yielded no trophies.I'd like to get into another competitive league but I don't know where to look. Is any site particularly good for me to join a random league on? Anyone here need a recruit? Doesn't have to be for money.

Why? If someone has played in 5 or more leagues for 15+ years...that's more then do-able.I put down 7, but I'm not positive on that number. Been playing for a long time (15+ years), but for the first 10 years or so only in 1 or two leagues. Definitely win more then my share, and in the last few years have had over an 80% playoff rate with 2 or 3 championships.

Assume for a second that there must be more to it then luck, and realize every league has several players in it claiming bad luck when the truth is they simply suck, and it's surely no stretch that a good player could up his winning % into the 25% range.

In the 25% range, one would only need to be in 4 money leagues a year for 10 years to collect 10 titles. And I can assure your sir, there are many guys on here with enough acumen to win at a 1 in 4 (or BETTER) clip in local money leagues.

Three titles in 30 leagues suggests an average player, unless you're playing only in shark like leagues.

You guys are both right, it is hard to consistently make the playoffs every year especially when you have all savy owners in your league. In my main league I've made the playoffs 6 years in a row now and have lost 4 superbowls :goodposting: . In the end its all about the championships, no one cares how many times you finished 2nd.

I have played in one league since 1999 (10 years). Won the title 3 times (1999,2004,2005). Made the playoffs 8 of the 10 years.

I started playing in a work league last year. Didn't win the title.

So 3 titles in 11 league years. Not bad winning %.

Define money league.

For me, anything under $100 is fun.

I play in a lot less leagues than some around here, that is apparent.

Two money leagues, $500 and $400 for the past 4 years. 1 title, 4 Super Bowl appearances combined.

I agree it's about the competition. But without money, I find the competition lacking. Too many owner's that aren't serious. That's why I've given up my work league and my online free leagues. The only one I continue to play in is my original big money league ($150). I've been playing in this league since 1993. I sucked at first but have made the playoffs every year for the last 6-7 years now and usually finish 2nd or 3rd. Still only one championship though. I guess that's not far from average for 18 years in a 14 team league.

Honestly?

Played in my main 14-man league since '97. Been to 3 Super Bowls, but never won the Championship.

Counting my other two leagues over the past ten years , I've won 4 championships all together.

I have had a different experience. It has not matter the amount, but who was allowed in the league. In a $150 league, I have seen guys quit because they got off to a bad start versus in a free league see an an owner who has had bad teams for multiple years set his best line-up week after wek even when he goes from rookie pick 1 to rookie pick 5. for me it is the who not the amount.BTW, I separate between yahoo, espn, nfl etc "free" leagues versus low cost (site fee) leagues with experienced players.

Zero for me too. But I've only been doing 1 league per year for 6 yrs. Destroyed everyone by 100 total pts last yr only to get pwn3d by the Deangelo game in the Meadowlands while AJ put up a zero in Oakland for me.....would've crushed that team in the semi's too

I've won 10+ but voted 0 becausee the iWick doesn't like to boast
